Pyke was good today. What happens to Currie, and White. Does White go forward and present as an option. Veszpa will be bck in the reserves in 1-2 weeks so that should be good. We really do lack a crumbing forward.

Whoever told Bevan to take the last kick-in must have a wicked sense of humour....

50 points probably flattered us. Geelong should've, could've kicked a hell of a lot more. Healy mentioned it in the telecast and it's been sticking out like a sore thumb, we are getting thumped at the contested footy.

Well, at least we learned that Pyke is a keeper!

The good news is that was the best team in the comp....by a fair margin.

Can't see anyway possible we could beat them, other than their bus breaking down on the way to the ground.

The thing is that they probably should have played in the 2005 final as well! I think that loss in 2005 made them into the team they are today.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Blegh. That got pretty ugly in the end. Bevan had an absolute shocker and probably couldn't play any worse if he tried, but Malceski?! I'm not sure of the reason for his decline, but his decision-making was awful! I'm not usually a big 'drop him to the twos' person after a bad performance but a stint in Canberra might not be a bad idea...

That said, we'll still probably beat the Eagles next week.

Stop blaming Bevan a few other players had crap games in defence LRT and waht about C Bolton hewas ripped up early and it was hard to defend against such a potent forward line when forward line has so much space remember Bevan went on him because C Bolton was getting taken to the cleaners.

Bolton may have got ripped early but he did pretty well in the second half. LRT was ordinary though, but Bevan was absolutely terrible.

Which really begs the question are Geelong that good or is everyone else just average?

If they're not going to kick it to Hall when he's free, White may as well go forward! At least we have the option of playing him there.

We had a crumbing forward...he was often criticised on here, but he did do that job pretty well...he plays for the Saints now I believe.

Feel mildly cheated watching S. Johnson play as I keep thinking he's the player Nick Davis could have been. I'm not sure whose fault it is, Nick's or Roosy's for not getting the best out of him -- look at how the Cats delivered the ball to Johnson today, if Nick had that kind of delivery he'd have a field day -- probably 50/50 I reckon.

On Bevan, yes he did get caught out when the Cats got us on the rebound, which didn't help, but he did struggle.

How good is the understanding between the Geelong players compared to us though? Fair point that we're not what we used to be, though I think Liam Pickering acknowledged that we're still likely to make the finals, but clearly a long way off on today's evidence.

I think Geelong ARE that good, and we are not what we were.
The young guys need to keep improving at a faster rate than we can really expect.
The dropoff may last a bit longer than we hoped, but I guess the price for no high draft picks for bloody years has to eventually be paid.

Hall well held (I choose the word deliberately) right in front of the ump, and S ends up with the ball! Go figure.

                              Geelong ARE that Good !

When turnovers occur it makes it impossible for the backs to defend against centre corridor quick break returns.
Beven had a bad one but no-one else would have held Johnson with the delivery and the constsnt opportunities.

Hall had a pretty good start but was ignored on many leads.
In the last quarter especially he was dragged for petulance and frustration.
Gave away a couple of borderline frees (got given very very little all day.)

I think White will be in for Pyke if fit.
We need another tall mobile option.

There's always next week against the Old enemy.
Wonder if Staker will man Hall .....

The Cats are really outstanding. When we had the ball they played our game better than we usually do. When they had the ball they played their own game and I doubt whether anyone in the comp can stop them. Be interesting to watch them against the Saints.
