I don't know, but I suppose many would keep playing and taking the money whilst being fully aware of their diminishing value to the club. There may also be a natural reluctance to face up to the reality of an ageing body (don't i just know about that!). Either way - I feel the club has to make the hard calls - and didn't for Crouch and Barry.By your logic, no player would ever retire from playing AFL because of the money. I'm pretty sure Bucks and Crawf could have got another contract this year with their respective teams if they wanted, but they realised that their bodies wouldn't have stood up to it. Why is Leo any different???
Anyway it is all water under the bridge now. The club will just have to make the best of the forthcoming compromised drafts.Comment

I think we probably do agree with each other and you are absolutely correct in saying that once Crouch and Barry made their intentions known, it was up to the club to tap them on the shoulder.I don't know, but I suppose many would keep playing and taking the money whilst being fully aware of their diminishing value to the club.
