                West Coast 15.11 101

Despite our complete domination of the footy, we almost lost this one. We can't be a poor imitation of Geelong with a handball-happy game plan if we can't hit the targets. YOU ALMOST GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK!!!

I think I lose ten minutes of life every time Sydney play a game like that. It's worse than smoking.

I can't agree more - there is something about our inability to actually win easily - we never seem able to kick away.

Good to see they weren't over the top in the change rooms afterwards. Reality is that we won a ganme we could have lost, but should never have been in danger of losing.

MIA - Ablett, White, Grundy, Moore please step forward into the spotlight.

Shaw has something wrong with his brain.

On a more positive note - the old guard really stood up - MOL, ROK, BBH, Kirk, Goodes, Jolly, B1 and B2

Talk about a heart attack. My emotions tonight went the full gamit.

Despair with the clangers ..the worst being the dumb interchange..how would it have been to have lost due to a frigging interchange rule that has nothing to do with skill or tactics but just red tape!!!!!

Elation with Bird's quick hands and head and Poor old Bevan taking that ripper mark there at the end.

We just can't seem to win one-on-one contests..well some e.g. Goodes but then he got beaten twice.

Mickey is really the only player we have with that star quality. Speaking of which how good is Cyril Rioli, two weeks in a row he has done something in phone box situations that I have never seen before.

                            Jolly played really well

                            The Boltons did great jobs.

Even though LRT drove me mad we missed him when he went off.

                            Goodes played well.

                            McVeigh did a good job.
Kirky tried really hard an show a lot.

Poor old Shaw has never had toplay with sustained discipline in his life and every so often his brain just can't cope and he wrecks a great game. Genes and Shaw worship at Collingwood I reckon.

Meredith was very marginal tonight...but ok. One really bad stuff-up but otherwise competent.

Bucky and Moore foot soldiers only.

White not much....he is in a very unenviable position.

Loved that sling tackle of Barry's on Hurn.

Lrt injured and off the ground unbalanced the side.
Great to see Kirk run to BBBH after every play to make sure he was fully focused.
Goodes ran 14.5 km during the game and hit a top speed of 30kph. Fantastic endurance.
In the end an honest win for a side setting up a reasonable season.

I still think that Sydney play their best football when it is close. It's just that we don't get close to the better sides at the moment. Some good signs tonight but need to be able to play like that against the good sides. WC should have buried us with a couple of shots on goal.

Must say though, I love a thriller. Best (Sydney) game I have watched this season.
