16.10 106 each
Laidlaw 3 Thornton 2 Barlow 2 O'Dwyer 2 Smith Orreal Meredith Pyke Brabazon Karafilis Carey
Best: Thornton Laidlaw Currie Barlow O'Dwye Carey
Barlow took an amazing mark in a pack of about 12 players but the umpire didn't pay it. We still got the ball down to our forward but Currie couldn't crumb it cleanly. Eastlake take it down and mark it about 52m out. Topup 49, the mini Johnston was clearly afraid of his opponent playing on and gave away the 50
Siren sounds as soon as the ball is bounced
MOD was terrific in the last not only those two goals from the pocket but great workrate down back tooComment

They only have the surnames on the board. He's tallish lanky with short blonde hair. There's 49 who has a blonde Afro like Johnston does.

I was impressed with 49, no fear. Also a kid - actually a couple of toothpicks who unfortunately got crunched by Pyke, but got up - wearing I tghink 47. Faaarrr too narrow to be allowed on the4 ground, but definiutely willing. It was a good game. The Eastlakers with bigger bodies. And Braba kept on trying, and Cheese did a few things he could be proud of.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Queanbeyan upset Ainslie today so the Swans are now 1/2 a game outside the 4.Comment

I overslept this morning so only got to see the second half. It was a bit of weird game in that it seemed quite low intensity given how close the scoreboard was. Looked to be too much "ambling" going on, rather than purposeful running. But I guess the track must have been heavier than it looked, given the soaking it's had all week.
Still, at times, all of Thornton, MOD, Barlow, Laidlaw did some good stuff. I didn't notice much of Smith, named by the club as their best, but it is often the way that a lot of what he does is so slick and "inside" that it can go unnoticed from the top of the stand. Currie truly is a super mark as he showed again today. Yes he's tall, which is key, but his hands are like vices. His kicking still looks off though - maybe after-effects of the groin problem?
Best thing for me today was that DOK more and more looks comfortably in that group of "nearlies" running around. He's not super quick but he's got some zip back into his movement and is finally starting to show some signs of why they picked him up. It's been a few weeks in a row now so here's hoping he can push for a senior debut late in the week.Comment
