How about his direct statement to the whole of Ireland: "I came to hate Australia" so he'd be here for what? His mates? The club? Or maybe a paycheck?

The way he left suggested little loyalty so do you really think it'd be great to have a damaged player back to earn some more money at the expense of a junior we could develop into that role.

This of course is all premature.

Kerry has to win the All-Ireland final first.

I assume @@@@@@ stands for "bowled"? as that's what he did during his time at the Swans (hopefully so far) with his wonderful natural talent and flair. Dude.

Has anyone given a thought that perhaps he just felt he owed his father and that maybe this year was the year he had to have off for personal reasons that he very well could have taken in 2006. Sometimes it takes you time to come to terms with things. Considering Ireland is a long way from Australia and that his father did pass away maybe it was just something he felt he had to and wanted to do and then he can be at ease for another couple of years with the Swans. I personally do not condemn him for leaving. After all it is only a job when all is said and done and how many of us change jobs and then regret it and wish we could return. Give him a break and be glad that our club The Swans do not treat their players like some other clubs do - if this whole Tadgh may come back issue is even true anyway! Chances are it is all pure speculation.

That couldn't happen until late July. If Kerry win their way through (of which they are supremely confident) he plays till late September. So he won't back, if ever until next season,as a 28 year old Hutchy? Big.
There was never a suggestion from Hutchy that he would be back this year. It all revolved around the possibility of him returning for next season.

so can anyone explain the whole situation to me properly, this is how I get it... by september, his county Kerry should have won the all Ireland championship, apparently they are the Celtic, Man U, Barcalona of gaelic football, they just win all the time. Once this is done, and he has fulfilled his fathers/his wishes of winning an all Ireland Championship to honour his late father, he wants to come back to play AFL. Now, he is still on the swans list, but that finishes at the end of this year. Now when he comes for season 2010, does that mean he still with the swans, or does he have to nominate for the draft and than anyone can pick him up?

I had been hearing from a few players that Tadgh has told a fair few people he would be back in October, but no one was sure whether it was going to be returning for a break or not.

Likliehood that he misses Australia and the money!!

He could renew his contract with Sydney prior to the draft, and if he chooses not to he could go through the draft.

All players stays on the list until either the club cuts them, or they decide to leave and put themselves at the mercy of the draft system. Or they may retire of course.

I suspect if he is serious about a possible return the club will leave him on the list for as long as they can. This may mean giving him up until early Dec when the club must submit their final lists.

Of course the club may give him even more time by leaving him on the list at the risk of having one short on the list if he eventually decides not to come.

                                Makes a huge diiference.

Don't care what he comes back for, he is a quality player, that we don't have to do anything to get.
