I would say unless you are apart of the conversation (between Tadhg and the Club) you will never really know the truth of how everyone felt about his decision to go home.
As far as the contract goes, Don't forget these people are a tight nit group and would no doubt judge his actions as friends and not just business partners.Comment

Tadhg's girlfriend is a Sydney girl and has not moved to Ireland with him, so the rumour of his 'return' probably has some legs to it."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I guess some of us don't see it that way and I'm guessing most fo his team mates wouldn't either.

You don't think that quote might be taken a little bit out of context? He said he came to "hate Australia" because it represented his isolation from his family. He didn't actually hate the country, he just hated how far away he was. It's not like he says, "Oh, Australia, never going back to that hell-hole". It wasn't the country itself, it was the location.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

I think I said somewhere in his "leaving thread" that he wants to come back to LIVE and teach in Australia, and that he was only going home for a year (words from his mouth).Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

I hope he comes back to Sydney. I'd love to see him involved with the club and the league generally even if he doesn't play. Having someone of his maturity and experience to help settle kids in who are away from home would be priceless.
He's a great bloke. Love him.Comment

It's been done before!
Consider this. This guy... we'll call him Michael Jordan... won a few sporting events... let's call them NBA championships. His dad dies. He takes a year off to play another sport that he grew up on (baseball). Got the hunger back for the sport he was born to play... and made a comeback at 33... and earned himself another 3 championships!Last edited by goswannies; 29 May 2009, 04:27 PM.Comment

Get him back?! He's still ours! We're not talking about Lockett having to be re-drafted. He's already occupying space on the list, so we're just going to make better use of him. Except he'll be fitter and stronger hopefully and, more importantly, in a better frame of mind. ie he - hopefully - wants to come back (as opposed to being injured and thinking about going home to achieve a life long goal like he might have been before he left).Comment

Plus, it might help lure more Irish recruits out and keep them hereComment
