Every time I see this guy play i wish he was in our team but then again would he still have the individualistic flair and would he be benched for having a shot from impossible angles? But he at least kicks goals and his defensive pressure is superb!
He's a gun but I'm still pretty happy with Veszpremi.

Yep, I think manic or bi-polar would at times describe this site.

In: Smith, Bird, Thornton
Out: Buchannan, Ablett, Malcheski

Mal - needs a couple more weeks in the 2's to get himself right it kills my supercoach teams but he needs to find some form

Ablett - he's not really good enough for AFL, possibly worst senior player going round. I cant think of many 100+ players going around who are worse.

Buchannan - Have no idea whats wrong with him but he's not the player he used to be

Would love to see Patty V back in soon maybe round 12 when he finds some match fitness.

Yes, we are a much better team than v WB, but why kick out all the blokes who did the job so well only six days earlier? Agree not to over-react. The critical criteria is pace and footy smart eg moore not passing to Jolly is not footy smart. When a player is not able to side step opponents in a few games, as Goodes has done consecutively in matches with ease and handpassing to space to own advantage when caught, are indication footy dumb or average footy iq.

Lohengrin - That's a low blow to a 21-year member. Maybe I phrased it wrong. I meant I wish we had Geelong's ability, not their club. Lucky you added the smiley on the end or I might have got another (undeserved) yellow car. The more we going into new game plan, the more we will be Geelong/Bulldog like. Our handball and movement will be pacey as we learn eg handballing 1-2 metres ahead of a fast runner, not 0metre ahead unless we have perpetual footy dumb player who dont understand this simple tactic
after years on the game.

Snajik - Not a bad call. We do own the SCG, but we have a good record in Canberra as well. However, as I said above - why sack half a team that dominated a week ago. Agree why sack half the team when they played well before. Some can be demoted. The rest - practise 30% more setup pace routines, do more clocked 20metres sprint - the ability to run off from an opponent more often. Have that special self-belief that you can match the best

I may get disappointed and even despondent from time to time, but I will always keep the faith in my Swannies and what they're doing.
Bet there won't be a thread like this next week when we beat Hawthorn.
If the Swan keep on playing hugging boundary footy, it will test the faith in most Swannies. If Swan continue to boldly go for pace game, the player and coach deserve every support from all, irrespective of immediate success or failure. It gives us a new opportunity to match the best. We dont want to retreat to the old tired way. Then, all we need is the extra 1% to get over the best. We are pretty smart and involved here in RWO from most writers. We can get the extra 1% but we need the foundation of the new play.
We will learn.

Looks like it won't be Smith coming in ...

Capper cheers flair in the air | Daily Telegraph

In bad news for the Swans, Nick Smith, the hot-shot who was due to play just his third senior game this weekend - and first in 2009 - has suffered an injury setback.
"And it's a shame because Nick would have probably played this week," Roos said. "He's got a bit of quad soreness and unless he dramatically improves, it's hard to play a kid who's injured."

Gee we seem to be getting a lot of injuries to the kids. I wonder if its a factor of too many topups in the reserves causing the regulars to push themselves physically too hard or if the loss of Missen to St Kilda has had an effect on injury management.

Its a real shame we keep missing out on seeing laidlaw, schmidt, smith etc. Maybe Brabazon might get a game now.

Make me wonder too, though to be fair Murphy, Meredith, Vespa, Johnston aren't suffering soft tissue injuries.

Murphy's is a shoulder. That's usually ligament damage, which is a soft tissue injury. But yeah, we've had some bad luck with Meredith, Vespa and Johnston.
