I see in Heath a mid-paced player (no slower than ROK, for instance) who has shown genuine improvement this year (if you have only half an hour to spare, check out the 2nd quarter against the Blues - he was probably our best player), but who is still inconsistent and appears to lack the confidence to impose himself fully on matches. Also needs to do a lot of work on his game when the ball hits the deck.

He didn't have a good game last weekend but few of his team mates did. There are three or four I'd be dropping before even giving thought to Grundy's place.
Well, maybe, but he's been in the system a while and a lack of consistency/confidence shouldn't be holding him back at this point IMHO. Agree he's improved this year but last week he was horribly exposed by the Dogs' pace - at times I was reminded of me chasing after my 7yo twins - and looked awful coming off one of his best games for the club. Perhaps, like LRT & Ablett, this was a case of horses for courses and he shouldn't have been playing this game - unfortunately, I have no idea who might have taken his place.

Like Ablett (not LRT), must surely be playing for his future henceforth.

I'm not saying you're not entitled to your opinion, just that you can't say that everyone agrees with you when they clearly don't even from just reading this thread.
Yes ,your point has already been taken, but it is interesting that even the Reg supporters say he had a bad one against the Dogs last week. That is not exactly agreeing with Roos who says his form has been solid. I am still waiting to see a post saying his form was solid last week..hence my inclusive statement. So are you saying you thought his form was "solid" last week? If so,say so ! I disagree.

Can you name a few of our blokes who have been consistent?

I bet you can't come up with more than 10.

I agree with you Liz - give Grundy a break he hasn't even played 50 games yet and this year is the first year he has been playing each week.

                Yep - Grundy needs time.

An investment in him now = an investment in our future

                  Well, here's the thing.....
The easiest way to help out in that area is to watch the game and make changes while it's on.
I was spending a bit of time in S.A. for the last week, and surprise surprise it wasn't on TV!?!?!?!
So I let it run it's course - what you saw was the true Swans form.
I could have thrown some lightning at the TV station, but that really wouldn't have done much.

Maybe I should remove some of the freedom of thought I have given all the humans and let those dolphins walk out of the sea or something....

True to form, Roos now says there is likely to be just 1 change...Bird in for Ablett. A good change no doubt....but.... So much for his early talk of 2-3 changes, playing yougsters so they can learn etc etc. This constant doubletalk is just ridiculous. If he wants to stick with all his veteran and middle tier players, so to eek out a few wins, at the expense of giving some of the younger players a run, he should just say so. It's getting mighty hard to take his comments regarding team selection seriously. No doubt we'll hear more of the same on Monday night. Along with the new party line..."we'd play lots of the kids if they weren't injured". Smith ? Thornton? Currie ?
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

Its wearing very thin and affecting his credability. Thorton is stiff..he really looks the part and we need his clean grabs and straight kicking.
