[QUOTE=swans_premiers;441156]
like to see you do better mate.
We've lost to Saints at telstra, geelong at shell n freo at subiaco...we haven't beaten any of these teams there for a long long long time. (not since roos took over if i recall correctly)
Brisbane were due for a win against us and are playing very well this year.
Extremely Dissapointing first half against the dogs but they were pretty awesome too...pushing geelong all the way the week before.
Yes we've played some terrible quarters this year and it's costs us...but everyteam does. Even Geelong n St Kilda don't win every quarter.
You can all knock the boys n call for lots of changes after every loss but the reality is we're actually doing alright and we're introducing some new talent at the same time.
Excuses excuses excuses.
We were pathetic against freo, lions and dogs. After a blazing first qtr against the saints, the boys fell over.
Geelong is a 50 point better side than us so that is about the only one I agree with.
Three of the games were winable and 13 unanswered goals must be a record.
I'm not calling for changes but something is wrong especially when Shaw has a wobbly like he did.
Could I do better? YES I'm an online expert! In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

You add the next games against Hawthorn and Collingwood, and that makes it 8 games out of 12 against top eight sides.
I like to divide the rest of the season into blocks.
Rounds 11-13 Hawthorn-Collingwood-Adelaide
Very tough, although just one win might be OK. Not only are Collingwood and Adelaide are bogie team, they're both in form. Against the grain of recent history I nominate an Olympic Stadium win against the Piesl
...
In that context, talking of the good/bogy sides we've already played is irrelevant, because it's about to get worse before it gets better.Comment

Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Roos thought it was bad enough to pull him straight off and talk to him about it, the umpire opted to pay a free, veterans re-watching the footage thought it was worthy of a blast - yet with Bevan-goggles, all is well, apparently.Comment

I reckon Roosy's message to Bevan could easily have been "What u did to prop and keep him under the ball was good, but put your hands in the air as if attempting to mark, hold your ground and there can be no chance of being pinged for hands in the back". The actual 'dragging' may well have been a regular rotation which happens 50 times a game when somebody is lining up a set shot for goal.
I'm on record as a fan, certainly not connolly obsessive, but a fan nonetheless. I don't think he's in our top dozen and I don't think he is beyond having the odd poor game or even a shocker (Geelong), but he certainly brings enough to the table to get picked every week.
But the thing about the 'Bevan-goggles' is there is the rose coloured version which I view thru (connolly's are deep crimson) and the totally blinkered ones that you view thru, along with quite a few others. He, along with LRT, polarises views like few others.
I'm prepared absolutely to accept the 'dragged and blasted' scenario may be the correct version, even if u cannot accept my version of possible events, but please PLEASE don't put up footy 'experts', who sit in studios in Melbourne watching the same poor camera angle as the rest, as credible evidence that your version must be correct.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Donners, so even though you haven't directly responded to my quite feasible scenario, I can take it you don't give it any credence.

I must ask though, how did we get in to this subject?Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Donners thought Bevan ought to be at the front of the 'Welcome to Canberra' line, fair enough, his opinion.
But he added as evidence the 'shove' in the back and the subsequent dragging and bake from Roos.
I just suggested that it was more the Bullies player backing into Bevan's hands than an actual push, which indeed would have been dumb. I then offered an alternative to what Roos may have said (based on the vision) and the 'dragging' may have been a routine rotation.
All the same GS14, you should know by now that with the departure of Davis that most threads will get back to BevanDriver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment
