They must be all over their injuries by then, hasn't Roos being saying he'd love to play more kids but there have been too many injuries?

Pretty poor attempt, I am sure there are better rolling around in your heads out there.

This is a call of arms to young Swans to band together
We can't flood no more, it's not in-vogue... pffttt... whatever
Phase the cortinas out, win the ball at a bounce, they'll cry and shout
      Wave your hands
      Scream in vain
For withered stars won't rise again

The youth is starting our change
      Are you starting our change?
      Are you?
      Together

      In a couple of years
Bird will have turned boredom to cheers
      Jesse going hell for leather
Smith, Veszpa, Johnston you'll get it together

The youth is starting our change
      Are you starting our change?
      Are you?
      Together

      The youth
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

        To the Young Bloods

Do not go gentle into the fight,
        Old age should burn and rave at close of play;
Rage against the dying of the red and the white.

Hmm. Barry Hall - tank. Brett Kirk - tank. Jude Bolton - Tank.

Anyone got odds on this? Million to one? Anyone?

Of course you can you silly old duffer. It's not Henry Lawson. It emphasises that the senior dont kick many goals, especially not the kids.

It seems for Roos, rebuilding has about the same appeal as a colonoscopy..
Two days ago he said the Collingwood game would determine whether or not "to start playing the kids". Now he says.."the next 2 games"..ie If the swans can scratch out a win in either game, he'll keep plodding along with the current bunch.

With you Ernie, sounded exactly like that to me. Looks like Lukey is back, Mal gets 2 more chances to "find" form, Buchy gets another 2 games to slaughter the ball in front of a crowd and Jesse White continues to gouge out a career on 40 minutes a game.

It sounds like Paul has been saying a few prayers hoping the olds and bolds will somehow find the things that miracles are made of, and find their form of 3 years ago.

Do we really think that Buchy will improve his kicking, that Mal will find 10 yards in pace and start diving into packs and that Luke will lose 20kgs in the break to again make it to a contest or be too quick for a tackler, or even better learn to have his hands free when tackled.

Could the miracle be that the centre bounce set up will change and our players will be first to the footy for a change. Who is our midfield coach this week any way?

I would bet my dentures that we lose the next two games. In fact I'll throw in the bedside glass of water as well.

But do we have any uninjured youth to play?

Well done ROK Byron and Keats Stellation.

I don?t have a poem but I do have the lyrics to this song from that old classic, ?Bloods Brothers?, about Jake and Elwood trying to raise money for their aging club, and with such great hits as ?Mickey the Moocher?, ?Hit the Target, Jack?, ?Peter Gunn Forward? and ?Sweet Home SCG?.

                              ?Old side?
                              Chippin? chippin? chippin?
                              Along the boundary tripping
                              Down the ladder slipping
                              Old side
                              Rain or windy weather
                              Just short pass that leather
Wishin? that Judd was in our side
                              The targets we?re all missin?
                              Teammates out of position
Playing for nothing more than pride

                              Hold it in!
                              Tap it back!
                              Slow it down!
                              Ball it up!
                              Pass it short!
                              Knock it out!
                              Old side

                              The crowd is disapprovin?

                              Or kick it too correctly
Make sure we take it slow and wide
                              While we?re hesitatin?
