I'd like to see Micky get his 300, and if he can get a bit of form in the process, good. But I think that's it. White should take his place from time to time this season, and next season on a permanent basis. Pyke should come in as the regular ruck backup. If we're going to rebuild let's go the whole hog.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I got the impression that everyone had a go on Didak, but no one actually bothered to stay close to him.

Umpiring was generally okay. Certainly neither side had a major advantage.

Second week in a row we were denied chance to win by a pathetic 50m pen.

If Demetriou is serious about helping, he could do worse then put a rocket up the umpires department. It is obvious the umpires screw us every week. Other teams are so aware of it they throw their hands up measuring the one that got away at the merest touch. Davis one of many examples - after incorrect disposal while being tackled - he should've been pinged, but gets a pathetic free and worse fifty to kill us off. Instead of attacking our end (and we were clear with more numbers forward than them), they get a gimme goal, a centre bounce then a didak special to add another one. Game, set match - to the umpires.

Last night HTB and in the back weren't in the rule book. I can't recall an ITB being paid last night (stand to be corrected), but there were plenty there.

And the pies were wobbling big time - if one or two of those early last quarter shots get home, they die. Instead they get a shot of confidence from the bigger than the game brigade.

I know this is very sour grapes - the pies played cleaner, more direct footy for most of the game - but we had them on the ropes, and the boys had done really well to graft their way back into the match. To then see such poor decisions by the centremen kill the game sucks. And it happens too often to the Swans to just be bad luck.

Second week in a row we were denied a chance to win by the team we choose to support not being good enough.

What about Cloke's clear mark in the goal square that was disallowed (or are the bad decissions that go the Swans' way "just part of the game")?

Just so obvious. Stands out like dog's proverbials. Just like a shag on a rock. How can they all not see it? They must be blind. Every week we get totally shafted. If not for the cheating umpires and AFL we would not have lost a game and we'd have another few flags.

You know that one had nothing to do with the umpires? Or did it...!?!

Hasn't this been Crouch for most of his career?

Regardless of whether we saw it as a free or not, the umpire did not call play on or advantage so Richards was wrong to kick the ball. Shaw tried to stop him.

Yeah, sadly that 50m penalty was there under the rules of the game. It's not a rule I like much but it is paid more often than not, even where there is significant doubt as to whether the offender knew he was offending.

I have less problem with that one than the rubbish dished out against Hall last week.

I think you're getting selfish confused with selfless.

In that case the answer would be yes, Crouch has been one to sacrifice his own game for the betterment of the team throughout his career.

Not his best game last night missing a couple of slippery balls on the wing (where the ground was below par due to the stand rolling over it the night before for rugby league). But has been effective this year since back so hardly in line for the 2s on form.

It seems an injury affected him last night so - like most players may need a rest to get fit - and to play his usual effective role.

He took the injury into the game after telling Roos he was right to go. So the "did not play well because injured" doesn't excuse him - that seems to be the problem.

                            Sanctimonious rhetoric.

I don't think you could name one player who has not made this mistake at least once in their career. Especially if they played over 10 years. Just about every player carries injuries at times, Lockett's groin, O'Loughlin's knee, Goodes groin...

Sometimes the match situation takes it to the limit and it gets the better of you. And you let the team down.

It's part of the fine line of professional sport.

And on top of all this we had Collywood boguns to deal with!

I have discovered my inner war machine when confronted (affronted?) by these @@@@heads.

We should make the boys sit in a collywood sector and see how they like it! That should improve them out of sight.

But it was that lack of judgement that seems to have raised the ire of Roos (and some here).

I personally think he is finished and have since the "streak" ended. I also thought he was rubbish last night. Whether or not he is in the best available 22 at the moment is another question all together and one I don't really have an opinion on. But it seems that Roos considers that he should not have made himself available last night.
