Add Moore into the mix and you have the two slowest small/crumber forwards in the comp - in the same forward line - a disaster. Two really weak links in the one forward line, and two really weak links in the one backline - Bevan and Grundy.

We actually did ok to be competitive!
I still don't understand why we gave up Schneider in 07 because imo he is > buchanan, moore etc. FFS

Considering that Collingwood have been playing well, travelling well, and we haven?t, and we were missing Craig Bolton, there was much to like about our performance last night. It was clearly our best effort against Collingwood since 2005.
I think a lot of it was due to changes in personnel. I don?t think we?ll be seeing much more of Buchanan and Ablett somehow. Once Vespremi is back on the park, we might not see much more of Crouch either.
Amon has lost a yard, Ablett is a hard bodied player but is really run of the mill. Crouchy has to go. There's no speed. Gosh I'd love Tadgh and a fit Malceski in this line up.

It was our best effort vs the ferals since 05 but even in that year we weren't convincing against them and they finished 11th or something. Our best game vs Collingwood in recent memory was in early 2003. Pretty much since that round 21 blockbuster in '03 they've had the better of us gradually.

Presumably because he got paid more, and the salary cap was getting tight.

Schnieder was let go precisely for the reason that he was unfit and unable to be rotated effectively through the midfield. And it was Malthouse who exposed our deficiencies in regard to unfit small forwards who were basically opportunist crumbers. (There was another small forward who was so unfit he couldn't be consistently rotated through the midfield but lets not go there).

I don't buy the statement that all our players are playing injured. All players are muscle fatigued after a game due to the contact and intensity but it doesn't mean they are playing injured.
Nico Crouch was just playing old. A terminal condition that should have been diagnosed last year.

I had to walk out of the game once we gave away that 50 late in the final quarter.

I don't need to stand around and listen to ferral wobble supporters sing their song, nor do I need to get onto a train with them.

Kirk, Goodesy and Duck Butt turned up to play. The rest left their spirit on holidays.

God help them tomorrow night at the member get member function!!

Not happy jan. Not good form.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

                crouch should retire
bevan should go back to the 2s and get his confidence back, he is just drifting around doing nothing.

magic needs to do more, but should be carried to 300 regardless, deserves that much.

Time for white to have a rest and give a currie a go if he is fit

I liked the looks of smith this week too. Showed some promise.

And you started this so well. The Bevantor doesn't have any problem with his confidence. Did anyone notice the complete absence of Dale Thomas influence on the game? The kid kept him quiet, showed him a real bicep and gave him a serve to go on with. Bevo clearly outpointed the mug lair.

That was nice to see. Thomas gives me the irrits.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I chuckled at his 'hit' on Bevan.. didn't move him. What a joke.

The great moment happened right in front of me (as though it was for my eyes only, from Bevo to Pinko) Thomas was really wound up Bazza style. I think LRT came in as well with a baby wipe for the poor little tyke.

The look on Shaw's face was one of bemusement. One of those WTF was that you dumb a*** looks.

Did Thomas play? Didn't get within a bulls roar of the ball for most of the night.
