We are aware of your thoughts on Crouch - old tagger who adds nothing etc. I respect that. But dont respect your call that he is selfish. He has been a great player for the bloods and is not selfish (this is evidenced by his willingness to give up a possession for the good of the team for the last 10 years). He thought he was right to play, he was wrong, but why would he lie to roosey? He would not. Its his last year but he's still in our best 22 when fit.Comment

Thought Crouchy was up and about early, doing ok (if any player was going to react to the "next two games determine where we go for 09" lead up, crouchy was the one) but then faded pretty badly. Roos post match comments are as clear a "thanks for the memories, but it's over" statement as there has ever been.
Barlow is channelling Dale Lewis. Even when going flat out, just has this weird knack of making it look like he's loping along. Dale was derided through his career in much the same way as Ed is being now, but he delivered more often than not, and Ed will too.
A couple of times just seems to take a bit long with decision making and disposal, which offers fast opponents the chance to get him. If he can sharpen that up, he'll be a fine player for us. Needs to stay in. In any case, there isn't much pressure on for spots at the moment - eventually all clubs suffer through injuries - it seems to be our turn after a pretty golden run. Although, memo to club - GET ON THE PHONE TO DAVE MISSON AND PAY HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS TO COME BACK! I have never met him and am not close enough to the club to know what he did for them, but where-ever he is, that club does well injury wise. I don't know if it's his science, his training, the way he wears his tracksuit, or if he is just a rabbits foot - it doesn't matter - where he is, injuries aren't!
Pies a good example - were a rabble six weeks ago with most of their best off the park. Now they're back they are a lot better. But as a club, they are still just cruelly building their fans up for a bust. They'll follow their usual script and fall over when it counts most.Comment

I Am Crouchys Biggest Fan! He Is Certainly Coming To The End But I Have To Say I Was So Impressed With His First Quarter He Was Great. What Happened After That Is All On Him. I Think Roos Needs To Take Some Responsibility He Bloody Picked Crouch In The 22 So If He Wasnt Right Pull Him Out. He Is The Coach For Goodness Sakes And Should Call The Shots So As Far As Im Concerned Crouch Is Not In The Wrong!
Love Ya Crouchy I Got Ur Back!
And Im Out

One thing that seemed apparent about Ed's game last night is that he doesn't anticipate what is going to happen at a contest. He seems to wait until the ball has arrived before deciding what he is going to do. Which means, more often than not, his opponent already has the ball before he's reacted and he's already in chase mode.
The very best players have fantastic anticipation - it's usually what sets them apart. And a lot of it probably can't be taught. But if Cheese can make even modest improvement, he can become a far more effective player.
One thing that should be pretty easy to coach into him is moving one step forward into a marking contest. There were a couple of occasions last night when he had got himself into the perfect position to mark but because he let the ball come onto his chest, rather than take a step forward into the ball, it allowed a player behind to spoil.Bevo bandwagon driverComment
