    Round 13 - Adelaide

I sound like a parrot - where's the evidence that we're going to defeat Adelaide this coming Saturday? Where's the improvement going to come from?

Again, here's the respective team lists the last time we played the Crows in Round 17, 2008 at the SCG (definite changes to each list are bolded):

    SYDNEY SWANS
B: Paul Bevan, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Martin Mattner
HB: Craig Bolton, Ted Richards, Tadhg Kennelly
C: Kieren Jack, Jarrad McVeigh, Craig Bird
HF: Ryan O?Keefe, Adam Goodes, Luke Ablett
F: Henry Playfair, Barry Hall, Jarrad Moore
Foll: Darren Jolly, Brett Kirk, Jude Bolton
Interchange: Peter Everitt, Heath Grundy, Nick Malcesk, Matthew O?Dwyer
Emg: Luke Brennan, Ben Mathews, Nick Smith
    In: Hall, Malceski.
Out: Leo Barry (hamstring), Michael O?Loughlin (ankle)

    ADELAIDE
B: Kris Massie, Ben Rutten, Nathan Bassett
HB: Brad Symes, Nathan Bock, Michael Doughty
C: Nathan van Berlo, Simon Goodwin, Bernie Vince
HF:Andrew McLeod, Nick Gill, Richard Douglas
F: Jason Porplyzia, Kurt Tippett, Chris Knights
Foll: Ivan Maric, Scott Thompson, Tyson Edwards
Int: Robert Shirley, David Mackay, Scott Stevens, Bryce Campbell
Emg: Brad Moran, Andrew Otten, Jared Petrenko
    In: Gill, Mackay, Porplyzia
Out: Luke Jericho (hamstring), Brad Moran (omitted), Graham Johncock (omitted)

This time, we're without Kennelly, Everitt, Brennan, Matthews, and Playfair. Hopefully, Craig Bolton will be back (although our back line wasn't too bad on Saturday night). I can't see Ablett, Malceski (or Buchanan) coming back just yet; I don't know about O'Dwyer, or Barry. O'Loughlin is back in the team.

For the Crows, this time we won't have to contend with Kris Massie and Nathan Bassett. Gill, Shirley and Campbell are also gone. Simon Goodwin was out with a knee injury before the break, so he might be back. Johncock was missing from last year's team in Round 17, but he's well and truly back.

We've only averaged 6 goals a game against these guys over the last 4 games Again - where's the match-winning improvement going to come from? Where's the evidence that Roos has a new game plan that Neil Craig won't know how to counter? Our record against the Crows is even worse that of Collingwood, with one one win in the last 10 starts (although, oddly enough, our three best efforts in all those losses have been at AAMI stadium).

I'd just love to see us beat the Crows, but really, there's no evidence we will. About the only thing we have going for us is desperation.

The Crows will be almost unbackable favourites on Saturday. We'll be doing well to get of AAMI Stadium in one piece. Crows by 39.

Not sure why Knights won't be playing? He's kicked a fair few goals in the past 5-6 rounds and has been dangerous for the Crows.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Need to drop someone to fit the Vepsa in.
MOL?? He at least draws a top defender.
Moore?? I'd hate to see him go, but is offerring little ATM.
The only other choices are the 3 newbies, but again I'd like to see the 3 of them score another run.

          Rip us a new one.

          Crows by over 40.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Play some youngsters, MOL's 300th can't come quick enough so he can retire and make room in the fwd line.

Crows by at least 45pts at 3 qtr time, with a Syndey revival in the final qtr.....making it a Crows win by 25pts.

Cheer up though - you are above my lot (who are playing a lot of youngsters.....)

I guess it will be no changes then, unless Roos wants to bring Ablett back in.

I might have mistaken him for another player.

I'm very excited about the Adelaide game. I may ahve mentioned it, but for the first time I'll be behind the goals and with the Cheers squad. It's one of those experiences you kinda always talk about wanting to do and finally it'll happen.

                    Swans by 3 goals !

Only 1 change this week. Craig Bolton to come in for Crouch.

I would put Reg Grundy down forward, and MOL on the bench.

Would love to have Vesper in for Moore, but no such luck, due to injury.

You have some good youngsters, Kanga. YOu just need a coach....

We had eight players in their first or second season playing against the Pies. Thornton, Grundy, Barlow, Smith haven't played 40 games between them.

We don't have many players left. Of the eight listed players who played in the Bs, three got injured (according to Roos).

McVeigh may be injured. And as this report suggests, Crouch may have to sit this one out, too.

Vespa is supposed to be fit enough to return. And Bolton?

I truly hope they don't rush Buchy, Malceski and/or Ablett back. Make them get hungry again.

I thought Vesz injured his ankle on the weekend? Hope he's alright.

MOD was an emergency so he may come in for Crouch if C Bolts still isn't right this week.

No, it was only DOK (knock) and Pyke (calf) who were injured.

Vesz is OK and he kicked four goals.
