If I personally have to carry him around for the next seven weeks, I'll do it.

      He can't quit today.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Thinking about it now, it does seem like weird timing. Maybe it is effective immediately.

Have there been many players that have announced well before hand officially it is their last year?

IF he does pull up stumps immediately, it's a very sad day. I think we all would of loved to see him clock up 300. But it's a good, brave, team orientated decision. He is struggling and we need to use the next 10 games to see what we've got on the list that's worth persisting with.

Plenty. Cresswell, Kelly and Dunkley all did it from memory.

If he's having a press conference, it's surely to say he's going to retire now.

He's my all-time favourite too, but I'd rather he goes out now when he feels time is up than limp through the next nine games.

THough maybe he feels time's up because the club told him so.

It makes for nice segue to the Vespa era.

Stuff the segues. Magic is a champion and champions are entitled. Saw his first game in the reserves as a skinny awkward kid in the forward pocket at the SCG. Made me sit up and put the thermos down as the ball came into the zone and he moved like spilt mercury. This is a time to send him out the way he played. As a champion.

Is Michael O Loughlin the most overrated player in the AFL - BigFooty

Probably the fat bastard from Perth that had the biggest bowel movement in the history of obesity when Magic hammered home his brilliance against the crims.

The announcement could be just a way of flogging tickets to Mickey's farewell lap between now and round 22.

Hope not. If you gotta go, go now.

                                No respect.
If he's gunna go ... it's gotta be after 300 games.

Our season is pretty much shot to @@@@ anyway.
Even if they name him and he doesn't play ... he's still GOT to get to 300 games.
