That makes him the last one from the first game I ever came to.
Make the most of the rest of this season, we won't see him playing again. Just grateful he is leaving on his own terms and with dignity as befits a Swans elder.

I'll be right there with you Cruiser... One of my favourite Swan of all time. It will be a very emotional day.

      Mick, Thanks for the memories.

All going well he will hit 300 at the MCG against Richmond. The big moment for Sydney based supporters will be at the SCG following the Lions game in Round 22 (assuming the real possibility of no finals action). In any event the end of the home and away will leave him with the impressive tally of 303 games. It will be fantastic to stand by the fence as he walks around the ground. There are many people in this town (like my kids) who can't remember a Swans team without MOL.

We have got to get Mickey O to 300 games, the swans need to have a 300 game player. We dont want to not play him and leave him stranded in the high 290's and have another Rod Carter fiasco(for those that dont know/remember, Carter was trying to get to 300 games as well at the end of his career but got stranded on about 294 I think. Also not all his games were for the swans, but most of them were.).

I feel a lot worse at the prospect of Micky leaving than I did at the prospect of Kells going.

              Love ya work Mick.
              Always have.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

                End of an Era

                Sad to see him go.
Absolute Champion. I'm glad to see he's staying til the end of the year though.
If any player deserves to reach 300 games its the Magic Man.

Sure is. His departure symbolises alot. He played a dozen or so games in 1995, both his and Pluggers first year for the Swans as they played under Barrassi. From then on the Swans have been a regular feature in September and missed out on finals just twice, not by much mind you.

Manged to get over for that game..and that goal came out of nowhere. Happily just watching the flow of the game and then.."OMG what did I just see!!!!!"
The expressions on The Essendon cheersquad sum it up really.
I think I will watch it again. Thanks.
