What's scary is because of Hawks lose, if Cats do their job and beat Port tomorrow, we'll still be only one win outside the 8.

OK, so you want Roos to dump LRT, Shaw, Mattner, Richards, Grundy and White. And all in time for the Carlton game. Exactly who do you think is going to get a game?

Now will people stop mauling me for suggesting during the week that it was time over for Teddy?

you would do your kid more service by recognising his limitations

and your summaries of our youngsters when not having your blinkers on shows that you can be reasonable - i too reckon bird was poor today and probably needs to strengthen his upper body because he does get brushed off in tackles a lot.

smith, braba, barlow, and bird all have disposal errors regularly. and each cost us.

but then so do grundy, lrt, ted, crouch, and a few others

and our skills below our knees across the board are really poor.
Unpronouncable kicked four. Two came from gimmes the result of turnovers from team mates while the Bevantor was running off his opponent. That leaves two goals, one of which where the ball dropped to the front of the pack and LRT failed to spoil. In case you haven't noticed Bevo doesn't just have the job of tagging on the backline. He is expected and is often the third man up and spoiling. This requires him to leave his man and go with the pack. Don't you realise he is playing to instructions??? Sometimes it works sometimes not. Its called a game plan and defensive structure. He is a key part of our defensive structure. Most of the criticism of the Bevanator comes from people who can't even see a game plan or defensive structure. They just slag off at goals being kicked. Did you ever see Roosey play as a defender. I'll just say this one last last time. Bevo is not a tagger. He is a defender who defends and runs the central corridor. Is this really all too difficult????

Roos refused to be too downhearted, and instead chose to praise his young side for the way they performed against a fitter Adelaide side.

?We were playing against a team that is pretty seasoned and experienced, and with six or seven kids it was going to be really hard,? Roos said after the game.

?I was pleased with the way the guys fought it out, but there?s a fair level of fitness from the Canberra Football League to the AFL and in terms of fitness, the Crows are a very fit team and we just didn?t have enough legs.

?I thought our effort was fantastic considering the youth that we had in the team. It?s as pleased as I?ve been in a losing game.?

Roos was understanding of his young side?s mistakes, and although he feels they cost the Swans the game, their willingness was of far more importance.

?Some of our young guys made some really bad decisions, but that?s part of footy,? he said.

?Generally kids make mistakes and young guys make mistakes, but that?s part of learning and you?ve got to accept that as a coach.

?As long as they?re having a crack, that?s the main thing that we?re really looking at.?

Paul Roos who couldn't coach a choko over a trellis fence praises the young kids. He has no footy knowledge and clearly should be ignored

That quote doesn't support your point and I like how you quote Roos as an expert when you think it suits your 'argument' and criticise him when it doesn't.

My point was that the kids did really well. Roos is a great coach who has been outcoached on occasions this season. I dont have a hero complex in regard to Roos or any footballer.

I wonder how many "kids" played for Adelaide yesterday..Off the top of my head..Otten, Tippett, Walker, Dangerfield, Moran, Mackay...Nice try Roosy, but most teams other than Geelong and St Kilda are playing plenty of kids

I had already said the young players (ie: <50 gamers) did okay. They still make mistakes though. But still not relevant to the specific point.

am still in Adelaide as I'm off to the SANFL today. Am hopelessly depressed which is weird because I for one have been as eager as many to get this rebuilding underway as soon as possible.

how to butcher a perfectly winnable game of football. Going 4 goals up then playing 1950s chip chip footy, which given the skill deficiencies in the team is not not abe to be carried out for too long. Then to miss from 15 metres out, have 2 players reported & gift 3 goals to the Fruit Tingles through Mattner not hitting a target once from 3 consecutive kick outs in the last quarter is just inexcusable! This is a trained tactic that i do NOT understand for one minute. Why do we constantly go wide when going out of defence? Why are our kick-outs so haphazard? Why does Barry Hall snap when he has een given so many chances?

I have been to every away game this season. i have not seen one bloody win. Am very very over it all right now. Time to start saving for my World Cup trip now. No finals to worry about now. Life sucks.

Which was code for AFL screwed up the scheduling with the split round, which they did.

It shirts me that this is always the case. We nearly always seem to play a top 8 side coming off a week off after the spilit round. How hard would it be, especially now it is not just Syd v Pies the second week of the split round, to play those sides that play the second week against each other the following week? Or even better, why can't Syd v Pies be in the first week of the split round? especially as it no longer seems to be a stand-alone blockbuster as I thought was originally intended.

Perhaps it's because you've taken on the Swans jinx and should stop going so we can win?
