No disrespect to Grundy, LRT or Ablett - as I think they are still senior player worthy and have something to contribute - but do you really think anyone will recycle them? Not too many players (especially older ones) get a second chance with todays recruiting.

And you can't trade off lots of senior experience (especially when we can expect 5-6 retirements over the next couple of years) or who else will the new young players learn from?

Though he does seemed to have improved that aspect of his game this year, winning a few more clearances and contested possessions. I don't know if this is backed up by stats, but in previous seasons Priddis seemed to me to be much more of an outside runner. Perhaps when guys like Cousins and Fletcher were still in the WC midfield, he was relegated to that role. But yeah, one season playing as a contested ballwinner isn't enough for me to change that perception of him, especially since this is the first year in a while I've been without Foxtel and so the number of non-Swans games I've been able to watch has diminished greatly!
Priddis is as inside a midfielder as you can get. He's been near the top of the tackle stats in the past few years now. In fact he reminds me a bit of Kirk, hard in and under and a superb tackler but an average kick.

According to the unofficial prostats.com, he's 2nd in average clearances this year

Skills will always beat sheer effort..Look what Porplecia and Didak did to us in the last 2 weeks. Imagine if they played for us where we would be on the ladder and what we would be posting ,Skills skills skills!! Recruit it ,buy it,develop it but GET IT. If Smith has good skills then play him every game.No skills =no play

I notice Roos already backing away from the.." we need to rebuild and not worry about results for the rest of this season if we loose the next 2 games" ...
to..." we can still make the finals"...

If Roos said anything else he'd be accused of tanking.

I don't get this hairsplitting about rebuilding. We had nine juniors in the team yesterday ahead of Moore, Malceski, Buchanan and Ablett.

If that's not a revamp what is?

Brabazon's first quarter was excellent and we should stick with him. Thornton takes some good marks and has potential. Vezpremi and White will be good players down the track. Add Meredith's class as well as Johnston and Hannaberry (apparently both really good) and a pick inside the top 10 in this year's draft and the future looks a bit brighter.

I reckon Jesse White looks like he could be a gun key forward (certainly can mark and kick). Get him forward....get Pyke going regularly in the ruck.

Dont know how many times Grundy turned it over yesterday (but I felt like it was groundhog day for him).....but surely working off half back isnt his thing. Maybe Eski can get back and going....he and Shaw delivering into some bigger blokes who can Mark and kick...could be a simple strategy.

Dunno really....dont really care about being at the top at the moment...would be happier to see some development going on.
