    stick to the facts.

Liz you are wrong, the only 3/4 siren that had well and truly gone was the one to start the quarter - not the one to end the quarter. But hey, why let the facts get in the way of a "good"story.

Silly but very low impact - Rutten barely moved.

He's a peanut but we need him next year so we don't get blown away every week and for Johnston's development.

So will Rutten go for the elbow to his face?

@@@@ me the game has gone soft.

        Bucks is right.

          Five weeks ....

          ... good.

Should have got 4 weeks for the 3 x 50's at the MCG.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Spot on. No injuries. Big Beamish actually pulled the jab. Wouldn't bruise a grape FFS. And we need the big bloke next year alongside Johnston. Bobby Skilton has weighed in this morning expressing doubts. Skilts was a very clean player, never reported but i do remember (as a mere child in short pants) seeing the great man hit Frankie Dimmatina on the bonce with a coathanger at Punt Road. Heard the smack in the outer. Hit harder than Big Beamish's very light jab. They were different days when blokes could square off, even up and have a beer afterwards. Sigh.

Hall has to go. He is more of a distraction than an asset. I hope the tribunal throw the book at him.

I am absolutely sick of him. Once again he has shown what an absolute @@@@ing moron he is. Needs to be shown the door asap. He has had plenty of chances.

For decades a clenched fist punch to the jaw (especially right in front of umpire) has been a report/likely suspension.

There wasn't much power in the punch.

Soft...????... think back hard about a bloke named Paul Kelly...with scratches bites and squirelled nuts etc.. he was TOUGH enough to let his footy speak for him and do the right thing by the team. THAT'S TOUGH!!!!.

Big Blubbering Braindead BoZzo Bazza... ought been thinking that for the remainder of this year (especially after being sucked in by Campbell Roughhead Mitchell) ...that he would be continually taunted, needed to avoid controversy, play football.... and give Swans another year to help Johnston.

Nah.. that "big naughty bully" Rutten upset the BBBBBoofhead with a little shrug off swing.... and then laughed at him!

If Hall cannot play (and he had a VERY GOOD GAME otherwise) without cheapshots...then go off to the ring ....and get whatever grey matter is in that nude nut?... panel beaten back into shape.... in a fair fight!

Bit of balance is probably required. How much do you think we would have been beaten by without him? He was our ONLY productive forward.

How do you think Johnston will go next year, if Barry's not there?

Sure, he's a petulant sook and I'm annoyed at him for being an idiot but he's playing far too well to simply say that we have to get rid of him.

If a player is behaving as badly as Barry Hall, I couldn't give a @@@@ how well he is playing. The Hawthorn incident and the incident on Saturday have been nothing short of disgraceful and he needs to be shown the door. Enough is enough mate.

I would rather Johnston not do an apprenticeship under someone like Hall. He isn't the sort of bloke you want youngsters looking up to. He doesn't lead by example and is a complete moron.

You can't allow a senior player to continue breaking the rules and hurting the team just because he is playing well.

Complete over reaction just because it barry hall should get two weeks high contact low impact and intentional will only go for 2 weeks. Rutten was more shocked than hurt. There is footage of rutten and hall laughing together after the game.

We have to have him next year to help out white and johnston in the forward line and so we can play goodes more in the midfield without hall goodes would have to spend too much time in the forward line.

how quickly we all turn on the big bad bussler we all bemoan the fact the swans are entertaining enough bazza certainly brings some entertainment

Where did this "We need Barry Hall to help Johnston's development" myth come from?

Who was the big power forward in Freo's side when Pavlich was a kid?

Without O'Loughlin as well next year - he will probably be our go to forward. You think that's going to be easy for a guy who has never played an AFL game?

Pavlich played the bulk of his early senior footy in the midfield.

I'd say a bloke who has kicked 600+ goals and been instrumental in our success would be the perfect player to do an apprenticeship under.

He was an idiot on the weekend, no question (although if it wasn't Hall, people wouldn't be talking about it) but you're way over the top on the Hawthorn incident.

You can't completely discount how well he's playing - that's ridiculous. It's not ideal, but we need him next year IMO.

Yes and no. He has brought it on himself, as any "colourful character" in the AFL does once they start doing stupid things (eg: Fevola, Didak, Cousins). But also, other players have been cited for minor indiscretions that are quite noticeable (eg: Cloke, Rocca, Gehrig). So it's not really case of Hall being hardly done by, or at least he's not an exceptional case.

Given all the other retirements coming though, I'm thinking we should look at getting him to play for another year (as long he doesn't try to teach the young players how to mark!!!).
