O'Keefe is named as a key forward. Presumably Pyke and Jolly will change through the ruck, with White playing forward and O'Keefe spending plenty of time in the midfield. McVeigh can also obviously play there, though perhaps with limited time if he is not fully fit.

Glad to see C. Bolton and McVeigh listed, definitely missed them in the last couple of matches.

Looks like a shuffling of deck chairs. Thornton out??? Crouch remains???? Ablett possibly in And he calls it "rebuilding with an eye to the future" Old habits die hard.
Nobody knows whether a player like O'Dwyer will make it at AFL level.........because he doesn't get a chance to show us.

List management hasn't been the best (post 2006) and now our selection panel have left me gobsmacked.

They certainly have picked a team with an eye to the future. Didn't know Ablett and Crouch are in their early twenties and have 10 years of footy ahead of them.

Agggghhhh??? but I do understand, we must have quite a few players running around in Canberra that are 30+ years of age and have played less than 10 senior games.

It all makes sense to me now.

Final teams. No White or Pyke!!! I guess LRT or Goodes (or perhaps a combo of the two - LRT at the center bounces, Goodes at the throw-ins) to the ruck?

ONE RUCKMAN. Thats crazy, we are going to get smashed against them in the ruck considering they have a few in their. I'm guessing LRT will push up there. T.Richards will prob go half forward, though his kicking is gonna be rubbish.

I don't know what that's all about, unless Roos is worried that we'll be run off our feet. I guess it shows Pyke that even if he is the number two ruckman (White has been struggling) he won't be guaranteed a game.

Gotta hope the weather isn't conducive to attractive footy with our short lineup facing their tall one. Definitely surprising but we'll see if Roos is a genius or a goose come 3:45pm Sunday.

Jesse white is out through bad form and an undisciplined hit on a crows player (lucky to not be suspended from my view at the game).

Roos probably hasnt picked pyke, so he can have more run out of the half back line, as one of our backs will have to move forward to replace Hall. The changes make a lot of sense this week.

Jolly can handle himself pretty well, Goodes won a Brownlow in the ruck and Goof can ruck for a few minutes.

Hilarious reading these posts about Roos not picking youngsters: when you have smith, brabazon, barlow and the vez all keeping their spots.

I guess they are assuming that with Bolton back, Richards can go forward. Not that such a prospect fills me with confidence.

I'm not too concerned about the lack of backup for Jolly. White has done nothing in the ruck in the last two weeks, and Jolly has proven he can go it alone.

It was a pretty soft hit.

Richards will probably have to play forward to fill the Hall gap. And LRT will have to go into the ruck at stages as well (which will leave Bolton as our only tall defender at some stages) against a tall forward line of Jones, Hansen and the two ruckman who can both kick multiple goals.

Jolly will get physically worked over by the three ruckman - especially Goldstein he's huge.

And btw, I don't think selecting four players under 22 (23?) is playing the kids. Consider North for example; Urquhart, Goldstein, Anthony, Hansen are all 21, their two key defenders have played less than 30 games between them, Ross and Gartlett are both 20. That is 'playing the kids'. Not what Roos is doing.
