That is 'playing the kids'. Not what Roos is doing.
You're right, Roos does not support the policy of playing 18-19 year olds in general. He waits till they build up a bit of muscle with a year or two or three or four in the ressies. He's not playing kids in terms of other teams' list management, but for the swans, he is certainly giving our reserves a go. How old are the other guys up for selection in the seniors: as in Dan O'Keefe, Hannebery, Heath, etc. Looking at our list how many 18-19 year olds do we actually have? And aren't Hannebery and Heath still at school this year? (not being combatative) Who would you pick if you want to play the kids?

I personally think Roos is doing a great job.

White Pyke Brabs and Vez on the bench, Barlow hasn't set the world on fire in his last two outings, and the other guys need the game time, the extra tall would allow Jolls to go forward or back for a rest more rotations

Very odd team selection to say the least. I would of thought with DOK playing well (finally) in the reserves and our season shot, Roos would have been keen to give him an extended run.

At this stage surely Thornton needs a game?
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Well I must say that isn't the final team I was expecting.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

weird team roos mus be concerned about the way we faded in the last quarter against adelaide bringing in some experience but there is a total lack of height with only 1 ruckman jolly cant spend time forward and as mentioned earlier with richards forward and LRT giving jolly a break in the ruck we wont have much height in the backline.
maybe the are playing funny buggers and have a late change

Roosey is trying to bamboozle the rookie. Back it in that Bolton will not play. The big mountie will be brought in against Goldstein who is a lumbering palooka so the mountie will go alright in that match up. No way that Goodsey can play in the ruck. LRT has to take their tall beanpole up forward. The forcast is

Fine. Mostly sunny. Light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresh near
                  the coast.

So why is Thornton, an excellent overhead mark not playing? Is the 31 year old tagger going to be thrown up forward in the hope that statistically if you keep playing long enough you must take at least one overhead mark in a career built on chest marks, mongrel punts and short tugging? Have they taken leave of their senses in the ashram?

Or have they been discarded into the trashcan?

As per usual Roos has misled. For 2-3 weeks now he has talked of the need to play the clubs youngsters (if we lost our last 2 games- which ofcourse we did). He talked about the predictable inconsistent performances that would follow and the need to keep playing the yougsters regardless. So what does he do this week ? He drops ; Thornton after a 1 game streak.. and White who IMO, though not getting alot of possessions, is starting to look more comfortable at AFL level and is beginning to throw his weight around....Roos sellections don't match his talk, I repeat he has been misleading, and players like Thornton and White ( and a few others in the 2's) must he scratching their heads. At the very least we need to start getting some games into a second ruckman.
