Fair enough - but thought should be given to the credibility of the person who split that group into B's and C's.

Looks like it was based on pulling names out of a hat, rather than with any real logic.

Aside from that - no A's...yet. Where is the next Goodes/O'Loughlin/Hall/CBolton/Kirk?
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

      They wouldn't know.

It's a fair point you make about the next crop of A Graders but with the exception of O'Loughlin, most of those guys you mentioned took their time. Kirk was discarded by the club and Bolton couldn't get a game at Brisbane. Goodes had a good first year but after that, people were very critical of him.

I must have missed the retirements / delistings of McVeigh and Malceski.

(And yes, Malceski has barely played C grade footy since his injury but he has clearly demonstrated the ability to play A grade and there is a reasonable explanation as to why he hasn't for the last 18 months.)

As to the rest, half of them have barely got a start in footy yet. Give 'em a chance!

              And Meredith.

              A joke, surely.

Typical trashing of the Swans by the media.

No thought, or any real knowledge of our team.
Usually a case of 'out of sight', out of mind. "I've never ehard of these guys, so they can't be any good!"

I'll eat my hat if Veszpremi & Bird don't become A graders.
I would even suggest that Bird (on limited game time) is already better than Grundy, who they've rated as a B.

How appropriate that they've left out Malceski, and McVeigh, who are definitely A graders. McVeigh won our B&F for crying out loud.
And although not currently at his best, Eski was shortlisted for AA selection.

Also interesting that they don't have Meridith on the list.
I rate his handful of games this season extremely highly. He has shown skill of composure beyond his years.

Although they are yet to debut, I think we're on a couple of winners with Hannebery and Johnston. (Both 17 year old picks)

Without a doubt, as they get games into their legs, someone you never expected to will stand up and take the next step. It's happened before, and it will happen again.

I don't buy into all of this doom and gloom.
Chances are we won't be up to our extremely high standards of the last few years, but everything comes in round abouts.
                Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.
11 Kicks, 13 Handballs, 8 Marks, 1 Goal, 1 Behind, 1 Tackle, 1 Hitout, 3 Brownlow votes (his only votes)
                Ed = God

Hahaha, Im sure that when Hawthorn started of, mitchell, sewell, etc were all considered C graders. Veszpa, Bird, Smith, Jack, Hanneberry, Meredith, etc will all become A graders.

Brian Taylor is a complete DH. Always bagging the Swans and especially Mike Pyke. Called us a bunch of hacks. Just hope we prove him wrong over the next few years.

Again...fair enough. Undoubtedly people on that list will come on...but you can't give points to people for future earnings, I believe Enron got into trouble for something like that.

Malcheski was A grade - haven't seen it since his op. May come back, may not.

McVeigh, allow me to be contentious - I believe his B&F was half B&F, half most improved. Has another level to go to be true ?" grade, particular when burdened with the heavy tag.

And Meredith - If he was A Grade why isn't he cemented in the 1's?

Alot of these guys have the potential to be A grade - but I'm a runs on the board kind of guy.

On a side note - have you heard Philip Hughes in the next Bradman?

BT and History with the Swans

Last night on Fox League Teams, BT once again showed his complete disdain and disrespect for our Club.
Once again, Pickers warned him off and reminded him of Dick's directive that Fox would be banned from our rooms during games if he bagged Pyke.
He called our list of young players the "Hack List".

What is the history there? Did Plugger or someone belt him?

I know its been said here before, but the hatred for the swans by most(not all), but most media people in Melbourne is just amazing. Even when we were one of the best clubs in the 03-06 era, there were some journo's that just would not pick us even in games where we were red hot favourites to win. Dont know what it is, possibly because their(media personalities) favourite teams were @@@@e and inconsistent and the swans were the exact opposite. Now that the swans have slipped and are on the way down, they all just can't wait to stick the boot in. You guys in Sydney consider yourself fortunate that you're not in the fishbowl that is Melbourne, because honestly as a tragic swans supporter, I absolutely hate the way some of these footy expert media types lay into the swans. I sometimes wonder if they even watch swans games when they make those comments, I think they just see the result and assume things.
