Not by me, only Vez shows a little more guts than DAvo did, I still remeber that Collingwood game where Davo ducked his head instead of putting it over the ball, I don't think we'll see Vezsper doing that, he's all go from what I've seen, as far as Shaw goes, I'm won over already, good run and carry, lacks some polish on disposal, but don't they all really? If Eski gets back into some form we could see more of Marty Mattner running forward, I reckon he might get a run at CHF at some stage, Teddy clearly isn't comfortable there, too easily outsized, Marty on the other hand, breaks faces with his shoulder LOL, sorry to that St Kilda player, well, not really, but don't be surprised if it happens

Yes you will by me.
No he is not like Nick Davis. Nick was good fun, so is Ves, but he is also a true team man who is happy to work his butt off, and therein lies a bit of differenceIf you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

I don't know how anyone could not see it. Similar build, similar height, same colour hair. It was easy to confuse the two on the occasion that they did play in thesame team at the same time.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

I'm not one of the "defend Nick Davis at all costs" brigade but I think that is a bit unfair on Davo. Davis was a player who didn't naturally have a high level of endurance and who, by his own admission, maybe didn't put in hard enough on the track over his career to overcome this. When he was in reasonably good shape, he worked hard on the ground. I think the times later in his career when he didn't always chase as hard as we wanted were because he couldn't.
The comparison between Vez and Davis seems reasonable in the sense that Vez doesn't appear to have natural endurance, certainly not when compared to players like Hannebury and Murphy who arrive at the club as teenagers and immediately start placing in club time trials.
But Vez is still a teenager and it's unfair on him to assume he won't build up his tank over a few pre-seasons just because Davis never really achieved this.
In footballing terms, Vez has achieved nothing compared to what Davis achieved. His ball skills are nothing like as honed as Davis'. The raw kicking ability seems similar, though I suspect Vez has a few tricks that Davis lacked. Specifically he appears to have a better burst of speed and I suspect he will prove to be stronger overhead than Davis was. My belief is that Davis' career wasn't cut short simply because he couldn't build up the endurance level to become the running machine that so many players seem to need to be nowadays, but because he didn't have enough tricks in his bag to compensate for this.Comment
