    Kelli's commentary on TEN

Great call by Kelli she really knows her footy, with plenty of emotion and a very good call
But what an awesome game, the most entertaining sport on Earth
You know it makes sense. I'm 1%a

Agree about the game - it was an absolute nail-biter.

Disagree about Kelli. She might know her stuff, but voice-wise it sounded like she was trying too hard to be blokey and it came out strident.

        Yep, agree.

I found myself wondering if it was her or if I just didn't like female commentators during the footy...

Unfortunately for her, she sounds like she is always thinking about what she is saying instead of it just rolling off the tongue. Alot of the time she stops halfway through a word and changes to another. Im sure shes under a bit of pressure though. Does sound weird though anyway
The edge is not the limit, It's just the starting point...

I have no issues with her reading of the game and she did have some fine moments today, I just find her voice really average for a commentator and I also thinks she comes across as slightly forced (maybe that will go with experience though)

Good luck to her, hope she improves though.

My biggest criticism would be that she calls in a style not suited to TV, but suited to radio which is calling every player and movement of the ball. On radio this works as you need to give the listener a feel for whats going on, but on TV, when you can see it for yourself the style needs to be a bit different.

              I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

This is very sexist but to be honest I just don't want women calling games. It just doesn't feel right.

I thought the same - she sounds like a radio commentator (a really terrible sounding one).

Someone get rid of the peg that is stuck on her nose.

                    Talk about an Irritating voice.

Her lack of emotion when Bartel took the mark at the end ruined the moment.
Imagine if that was the Leo Barry's mark?

                    Terrible.

Maybe, but I'll give some other female a chance.
I see no real reason why a female would be no better or worse than a male.
Most male commentators did not play football either.
May just be a matter of adjusting to a female voice.
I think the more likely explanation is that she simply sucked.
                      Next.

We have males (ie. Darcy) commentating the Netball, so why not a chick doing the AFL.

Netball has been called by blokes for quite a long time now. Steve Robilliard did the ABC TV coverage for ages, I think he might of done it from the get go.

Very true considering Kelli has just made the jump from radio to moving pictures.

Let's be kind and give her time and not be Bullies
