I know its bad, but I was hoping, in the beginning and being supportive of a fellow shiela, that she might have lightened up on the blokiness and cut down the cliches's - alas I was wrong.

Kelli ! I said Pet, I said luv, I said pet, I said Please, PLEASE have some elocution lessons, buy yourself a Vicks nasal inhaler & cut down on the cliches - you know it makes sense! (said in the most caring way - to support the sisterhood!)

We need a cutie with a french accent to do the commentary. Ratings would go through the roof.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Its taken me 3 days to get over it - but I just couldn't listen to young Kelli on Saturday.

Week 1 - I thought "give her a go - she's got the knowledge just needs a bit of polish"

Week @ - hmm - had to turn off and switch to the other game few times as she was trying too hard

Week 3 - Couldn't listen to the girl at all - I have tried and tried to support Kelli with her quest, but the voice was sounding more and more like fingernails down a blackboard for me - its such a shame that she cant soften the voice (and of course chuck out the cliche book) she could be really good.

Summed it up beautifully Wardy. Especially the cliches.

Its a real shame too because she obviously knows her stuff and she doesn't do the "Um and Ah's" like some do - but I'm having to go with the thought (and as part of the sisterhood it pains me to say it) that perhaps Football commentary should be left to the blokes.

I know that Luke Darcy is involved with the netball - but he isnt contributing as much as Liz Ellis. So maybe it should be Netball for the girls and Footy for the boys.

What she says is actually OK. But it is just her tone that drives me up the wall. Plus she squeaks when she has to raise her voice. "Bah-teeeeell!"

I'm supportive of women being involved in broadcasting the game. But she is just awful to listen to.

Still the worst caller in the game in my view is Matt Campbell. The others flow with what they have to say. Campbell speaks in staccato clumps of words then silence. It is very irritating.

exactly - she really knows what shes talking about - but the tone and squeal screams, dare I say it, fishwife !! have some lessons Kelli, you will be surprised how voice coaching can tone down the most nasal/screechy of voices.

It is the same thing with women newsreaders. The only one who has gotten away with not imitating a man and having a deep Geraldine Doogue kind of voice was Anne Sanders. And listen to her was nearly as annoying as listening to Kelly.

as I think Mike said, I could handle her calling on the radio. She says too much for TV. The pictures do the explaining a lot of the time.

bang on the money there - too much, too busy but would be good for radio.

I've gone the other way, have seemed to gotten used to her a bit more now and are quite enjoying the different approach.

She coming up to Syd this Sat. night???

horses for courses - maybe she needed a few butter menthols last week - I dunno - I just couldn't listen - but to those who can (and as I have said she really does know her stuff) - you are made of stronger stuff than I am.

I've tried to be the sheila's supporting sheila's - but a gal can only offer so much encouragement. Still good on her for having a go.
