I think Shaw would have lost points for both of his Manuka outbursts, but otherwise an outstanding year.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Strange that McVeigh hasn't been more heavily rated here. He is the reigning club champ, and for my money his 2009 form has been better than 2008. He has played some seriously dominating games this year, to the point where he's now the clear #1 Swan for opponents to put a tagger on.
Although counter-intuitively the competition for club champ is hotter this year as we've been more reliant on our 'old guard' best few players: Jolly, ROK, Kirk, JBolt, Goodes when he shows up, plus new boy on the block Shaw.Comment

Yeah, good point on McVeigh. Perhaps because his 2008 season was such an improvement on anything he had done prior, that people have forgotten about him this year.Strange that McVeigh hasn't been more heavily rated here. The problem that McVeigh and Craig Bolton will face in the B&F are the weeks they missed through injury. That's where Jude, ROK or Jolly may step up. I'd have to say those three will be the top three with Shaw as the dark horse to do what others above have said about Pies players winning the Swans B&F.
Even though I'm not a huge fan of Grundy he'd definitely be my pick for Most Improved. Unless Jack sneaks in to grab it.Comment
