    B & F after 18 rnds, thoughts

On the season and form thus far in the season

Hard to argue with that but the Match committee love Kirky and will probably be polling very well. Marty will be there abouts as well.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

      I think probably O'Keefe.

He might not poll well in the Brownlow/other awards for the early rounds of this season however the people who vote for our B&F also vote on whether players did the job that was asked of them and we've been told that he was doing what he was asked of him in those games.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Al! I was at a do with Megan and Cate on Friday night and I'm sure I heard Megan say she hadn't heard from you.

I don't do fantasy footy but can anyone tell me how we convincingly won rucks but I saw in the Hun site that Jolly score the fewest points of any Swan - and well below Pyke?

Jolly got 33 hitouts but only had four possessions and one mark. It'd be a while since he was that low.

Goodes would have to be up there again, played a few brilliant games, amongst the "other ones".

Jolly played injured for half the match and was restricted around the ground. His tapwork was fantastic, but he wasn't able to exert his full influence. He was a big reason why we won so many clearances though.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

If I was to place a bet, I'd find myself deciding my money between Jolly and Shaw.
Goodes will always poll well, and J Bolton always gets a few votes. This year I'd say that I've been more impressed with Bolton than I have in past years.
O'Keefe had a very slow start from my recollection, so he might not do as recent form might dictate.

Its very open this year, so a bolter might get up. (Remember Andrew Schauble in 2000?)

Interestingly, Adam Goodes is $34 for the Brownlow, and the only Swan in the running, (if you exclude the $2.75 favourite, Dane Swan from Collingwood). That said, last year showed that the umpires love Adam. Further, the points system for the Brownlow clearly favours the superstar player who might shine every three games or so. The Sydney Swans B&F system favours the more consistent player who has at least a good game 4 times out of 5. (There is also a weighting system favouring occasions when the Swans as a team play really well)

For season long consistency, I don't think you can get over Darren Jolly, Ryce Shaw, Jude Bolton or Brett Kirk. Ryan O'Keefe's great performances only commence mid season, when he was put in the mid field, (although under a Brownlow 3-2-1 system he would have a much better chance).

My money is on Shaw. There is a recent tradition for imported Collingwood players winning a B and F in their first year with the Sydney, witness Andrew Schuable (2000) and Paul Williams (2001)l

Can't see Shaw getting the B&F.

ROK, Jolls, Jude, in some order followed by Craig, Kirky and Shaw.

                          Most improved: LRT? Reg?

Best new kid on the block: Hah. Hanners, has to be.

In my opinion we'll be looking at Judes face as we scan our cards going through the turnstiles next year.
I can think of a lot worse things to look at

And Reggie has to be a shoe in for most improved.

Just imagine if LRT won it, they'd have to do a McVeigh and have a back of the head photo.
