Really? Would you like to explain why you seem to think the only factor determining how good a kick a player is is his technique? Because if that's the case, with a bit of work I, or anybody, could be the best kick in the world. Pyke, with his current technique, will never kick for goal like Plugger. It's limiting. But it's not the only determining factor. His familiarity with his style and his natural co-ordination and timing mean that every kick he has had at AFL level ever has been decent-good. You can only judge how good a player is by his output.
Your view is the footballing equivalent to "all women are physically weak and bad at maths". Sure, women tend to be physically weaker than men, and men tend to be better at maths and science, while women tend to be better at English and arts. That doesn't mean there aren't women out there that could beat the crap out of me, or beat me in a maths exam. I certainly wouldn't assume I'd beat any woman I met in a maths exam, and you shouldn't assume that Pyke is a bad kick, especially when all the evidence so far (not that there's a lot yet) suggests he's not.
