Me thinks Murphy has been told that he will get a senior game before the end of the year, just as a teaser to give him a taste of what is possible.

And I bet it will be the Collingwood game with the club keen to do something different against the Pies to break their current hold over us.

DST that is pure speculation on your behalf. Murphy didn't play lastweek, don't know why, and was struggling before that. Roos has shown throughout his tenure that he doesn't hand out free games I don't see him starting now

He is, injuries have just bounced him around a bit.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                I'm not sold on him.

Sure it was 6 months ago, but in the practice match against Melbourne he looked slow and ordinary.

I have high hopes. Wish him well!

Murphy: No AFL deal signed yet | Setanta

"I said last night that there was a contract there for me, not that I had signed," said Murphy. "And I was getting texts from home saying 'congratulations on your new contract'. I didn't know what was going on. If I'm not happy with what's offered well then the likely thing is that I'll be returning home."
But if you read his column he does say

Basically, I?ve been offered a new contract, and I?ve decided to take it.

If you were living on the other side of the planet to your friends/family and your boss offered you a contract to stay away but for very little money would you take it? He simply must consider his options seriously.

It'd be remiss of him not to.
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

For a guy who's never played A-grade, he speaks with a lot of confidence. Hope he plays like that.

To give him the benefit, he's just reacting to a story that's come out, and he has to discuss it with his manager and his parents before he decides. Fair enough.
The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible news
