    Proud.

I felt the players in the team tried their hardest tonight.
    That made me proud.
Even though we lost, the players all turned up thinking that they could win, and didn't just play the game out.

*wondering if the pride is wearing off some RWOers now that the Swans have let slip two winnable games*

On a serious note, I was happy with the effort, and with the new 'blood' coming through the ranks.
I think all this 'rebuilding' rubbish is starting to look a bit silly.
This must be the quickest 'rebuild' ever.

What I am really proud of tonight is the recruiting and development the Swans have put into a group of young players who are starting to pay back that regard and respect.

Who'd have known that the kings of player poaching would have been secretly recruiting such fine talent?

Yeah really happy with the youth . MOD showed some good things, Hanneberry was poised, White was imposing Grundy continues to improve.

LRT was excellent for 3 quarters I thought.
I wish my weed was EMO so it would cut itself

Who the hell was LRT tonight?
      He looked like a footballer.

White is looking like our future.
Who knew that losing Hall would be such a positive thing?
Except that he shouldn't have been lynched.
But anyway, I'd like to state my position here and now that Mickey should play on.

Wouldn't be surprised if he reversed that decision. I think it was made in the heat of the Hall fiasco when everything looked so bleak....only a few short weeks ago....

I love Micky, my favourite Swan atm, but his time is up, his knees are shot and it's right for him to go. Still wonderful to watch to the end.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yes. I think some of us in the last couple of years, and other fans over the last couple of years, have slammed the Swans youth policy. I have to say that our recruiters have been fantastic. Also credit goes to Roosy for playing players when they r ready. Other teams just throw the youngsters to the lions, yet he has waited till they matured and have come good. Next year I would not be surprised if we made the finals and if we recruit well, Johnston comes good, and we make a couple of good trades, we could be fighting for a top 4 finish. Someone needs to replace Micky O though, and Goodes in the middle (when he went in there we were a much better team).

Point is - he has a hell of a lot to offer.
Doesn't seem to be playing it out at all.
In fact, I'd say he's playing some of his best footy.

He reinjured his knee late in the 2nd quarter, the way he limped down the tunnel at half-time I didn't think he would be back, but he managed to come back.

Good match by the majority of the Swans tonight.

I was wondering i fhis knee time was up a coule of years ago.
                  Happily to be proved wrong.
If he is over it, then fair enough.
But if he still has the desire and the ability - the go on!

Nah. I reckon he's played so well the last couple of matches because the weight of his future is off his shoulders. I'd love to see him stick around if he could, but I think he's too happy knowing he's got the rest of his life off.

Heard him interviewed a couple of weeks ago and he commented that he has practically no movement in the ankle he injured late last season, and also is able to do hardly any training. So while he does at times still look like a sprightly youngster, I fear his decision is the right one. At least he'll go out the utter champion he has been to our club, right down to his very last game.

I was really proud of the team this evening. In recent outings against the Cats we've been able to stick with them for a quarter or two but have been blown out of the water in a few short rampages. There were a couple of times this evening when it looked like that might be on the cards, but the lads dug deep and didn't let it happen. Even allowing for the few sitters that the Cats missed, it was a very creditable performance and one where they never looked like they didn't believe they could win. We just lacked a little bit of class, a little bit of physical strength in the middle of the ground.

I brought along a friend who doesn't follow AFL. He was amazed MOL was at the end of his career, however Magic simply wants to go out on a good note, his body won't go round again for another pre-season and full season.

It will be sad not seeing him out there.

MOL has got his timing just right. As usual.

He has got everything he can from this game. He has given everything he can. And he has chosen to leave on his own terms with dignity and "always leave them wanting more" timing. Many don't get that option.

                            Nope, still proud!!

The team has been terrific over the last few weeks without much luck. Geelong hit us with one of their famous bursts at the start of the last quarter but we stayed with them and very nearly could have pinched it! No mean feat to stay with them for that long, even allowing for the Cats' recent shaky form -- how the hell are you supposed to keep Ablett, Corey, Bartel and Selwood down for four quarters?! Their work-rate is phenomenal in addition to being great users of the ball and it's the only reason why they've been winning the close ones of late while the team hasn't playing that well.
