I find it interesting that Bear thought we'd be better off without Hall, weeks before the 2006 GF.

The Stk and Cats games are the ones I've been most pleased about this season. A "Never say die" attitude is a good thing for the junior players to see and be immersed in. Especially if they end up winning some of those games.

This weekend? Then I'll be extraordinarily proud (even though I'm watching it from Bangkok).

I think Hall's lack of ability with the contested mark has been brought into the spotlight with his omission.

White, Grundy, Goodes - even Micky O...it seems like our entry into F50 was orchestrated to conceal Halls insufficenicy in the marking ability department.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

We didnt have white in a position to take over three years ago and we would have been bemoaning our lack of key forwards if he hadnt stayed around.

Really the timing has been perfect, we now have emerging midfielders that allow Goodes to play CHF and White has matured sufficiently to play at FF. 12 months ago this wasnt the case.

As for being proud, I dont think it is wearing off. I actually like watching games not expecting to win yet getting so close against quality teams. event eh commentators were alsmot saying that Sydney could be more than making up the numbers if they made the eight. Its very exciting to see the young guys start to gain a name for themselves and it definitely helps to have a nucleus of experience like the jolly, the boltons , okeefe and kirky around them. All we need is replacement silky skilled forward pocket / half forward for Oloughlin and we will be pretty well covered going forward.

Like I've said before, I'm proud of the players every week, for giving their all.
Many here post complaining about this player or that player, but I know that they put in everything when they step onto the field.
I was happy that the Swans did so well against the Saints, but disappointed that they didn't win
I wasn't happy about our performance against the Cats, as based on current form, and how they were tracking in the game, I thought we'd win.
So I am disappointed about the weekends game, and certainly have no extra pride for the team than usual.

Interesting how through necessity that Swans have a whole new breed of players emerging.
And by necessity I mean Hall going, Leo going, Mickey going, etc etc
I know they've been in development for a while, but fast tracking them seems to be reaping rewards.
Usually the Swans are very slow in bringing in new players, waiting for them to be 100% ready, where other clubs take the risk with the kids and they shine.
I'd suggest that a few of the new players in the team would never have been playing of we were sitting 5th or 6th for most of the year.

                          Good on you. Top effort.

No reason why they couldn't have played Hall at CHF (as they're doing with Goodes) and White at FF.
