Will harm our rebuilding if he plays on.
And then there was Crouch....(retiring at end of season)

Given his injuries and indifferent form over the past few seasons I can't see any worth in him playing on."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I think it's worth waiting to see how his body holds up for next year, as long as the decision is made before the draft, let's not have another Fossie episode. I would like to see him lay another year, still quick enough to go with Acker, a good pre season might be what he needs. Only he really knows ad as a great clubman, should be given the opportunity to make the decision for himself. Personally, I love the the little bugger, always giving a bit of cheek, and whoever said he couldn't stop Ablett must be kidding themselves, is there a player in the entire comp that can go withG Ablett????? NO, besides, Jack played on him for the majority of the game, which I believe was a learning experience for him, as they did with Kirk, tagging, learniong to read the game off the best players, not a bad way to learn, even if u do get a bath, I remember Crouchy getting done by Nathan Buckley and admiting it in a post game interview, but learned pretty quick, and became one of the best taggers going atound. Live and learn

Perhaps if his wine business is going well he might hang up the boots and take that on full time - otherwise, he may go around for another year - I guess we just wait and see.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

In my opinion, Its time for Crouch to retire.
Unfortunately for Crouchy, the only value he provides to the team now is to mind the opposition small forward. He may be able to do a job on Acker, but trouble is there are blokes like C Rioli, G Ablett, E Betts, L Davis/A Didak, Schneider/Milne, and so on, who will run rings around Crouchy if he goes another year.Comment

At Leo's press conference didn't Roos say something like "Kirk is yet to make up his mind but I expect we'll know in the next week or so"? It seemed from that that there's a lot higher chance of Kirk going at the end of this season than most of us have thought, watching his enthusiasm at each game this year.Comment

I'll be devastated if Kirk leaves this year. I agree he's more likely to go when Roos does.
Crouch should go, he's shot and will only get embarrassed next year. Doesnt strike me as the type to suggest retirement - we'll need a crow bar to get him out.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

i really hope kirk goes for one more. i think it would be fitting for him to go along with roosey. plus i think his leadership would be invaluable to the kids coming through.
crouch i could take or leave at the moment. i'm content to sit on the fence for this one.Comment

You're right about needing a balance b/w youth and experience.Comment

I'm hearing this. Although NOG has played well in the last few games. Well enough to make him a reasonable trade option. I'd hate to see him de-listed and then get picked up in the pre-season by another club who doesn't have to give us anything for him. I still think he has a bit to offer. Not his greatest season, but didn't he have some illness (denghi fever)?

dengue fever is pretty brutal - before the US dismantled their biological weapons program, it was something they were researching for use in warfare!Comment
