Said Sydney keen keep picks which was a polite way of saying no

Has mentioned we are talking to a few players, said it was obvious which ones were worth talking to, ruled out sean Burgoyne given he nominated Melbourne based club

Good, more noise from the club confirming that we are going to keep our 1st and 2nd picks, which is positive.

We will then use our third pick for Seaby and offset that with either the Dogs 3rd pick or their 4th plus maybe Addison.

If that comes to plan, we have two ready made players in Seaby and Addison and four picks inside the top 60 at 6, 21, 46 and 53.

Not sure of the numbers after de-listments, but that could leave us with one more spot left to fill to kept open for the PSD to pounce on a disgruntled non-contracted player or just take the next one we would have drafted with our fifth pick in the draft if still available.

Four youngsters onto the list, along with a couple of elevations leaves us with a very young list outside of the top 22 and you can see why they are keen for a couple more players in Seaby and maybe Addison to add mature depth to the squad as we will be very young if a few players go down with injury.

        Happy with that outcome.

Just saw Roos saying on the news that it's highly unlikely that we will make a play for Fevola.

I think he said they were keen to keep their first two picks, especially their first one. (Read the second one is negotiable for the right player)

              Agree that's the likely outcome.

However someone raised a rumour last week of Moore to the Kangas which may turn out to make some sense, and may result in another 3rd round pick.

I wonder how Roos saying "it's obvious who we're talking to" will be interpreted. Probably a hundred ways considering we get linked to every player on the market! But I wonder if there's any truth to the Luke Ball speculation, as I briefly raised earlier. Maybe a return sweetheart deal with Ross Lyon to help the Saints out with their own salary cap pressure. I think 2 of Maguire, Ball and Milne will leave the Saints - however Ball would certainly cost more than a 3rd round pick.

We're looking at Peake as well, maybe to fill type Crouch role.

                  Question.

Would you rather Seaby for pick 38 or Everitt for pick 22?

Not sure it's an either or. Presumably the club has chosen to look at Seaby because Jolly clearly needs some help and the club isn't convinced any of Currie, Pyke or Orreal will be able to provide that for the next season or two.

Everitt wouldn't solve that problem. It becomes a quite different question as to whether we also need to recruit a young tall backman and whether Everitt is an appropriate solution for that gap.

More rumours that Fev is headed to Sydney - Again!

On the 5.30 news this morning - its again being touted that Fev is headed our way - so if Carlton do give him the hoist - will we go for him? Will it render the "no dickheads" policy null & void? questions, questions, questions!!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

With the form that White has shown I can't see any reason why we would want to go for Fev.

There is some rubbish article in The Age claiming something similar. Based on what Roos is purported to have said yesterday, and the drafting of Seaby, I think it is the media playing paint by numbers. i.e. bull@@@@. The media are trying to find Fev a home.

As per comments in the other thread, it is very difficult to actually understand how Sydney would benefit from such a move given the state of our list, development and future direction.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

                            He'll stay at Carlton.
They need him, they are on the verge of regular finals.
He's been well fairly well behaved during the season, and let his hair down after his season was over. BFD.

Just a stern talking too, and all will be forgiven.

He didn't kick one of his team mates.
He didn't get disciplined for missing training, after a bender.

I'm only reporting what was said - now take that anyway you like. I personally dont think he will come to the Swans, but then I have been wrong a many times before - but the question needs to be asked - but what if he did? wouldnt that put a cat amoungst the pidgeons?
