Looks like it was our pick 22 we've given to West Coast, rather than the pick 28 we're getting from Brisbane.

We always seem happy swap picks and fall a few places in a round of the draft - normally because we have a draftee in mind that we're confident will still be there a few picks later. So perhaps no big issue dropping a few places in this case.

Im going to get sick? we gave 22 pick for Seaby, Im not well, he couldnt get a game with the eagles. They put Lych in the rook when cox got injured, he is tragic. Are u sure it wasnt pick 222?

What did we get for Buchanan?

What a load of @@@@, West Coast get pick 22 and Dalziell for Seaby and Staker? Wow. Wouldn't it have made more sense to give pick 28 to WC and keep pick 22?

We always get soft when trade week starts

Thus far it looks like we've lost (or very likely to lose) 8 senior listed players from 2009:

Barry, Crouch, Magic, Hall, Fosdike, Kennelly, Buchanan, Jolly.

We've added one for sure (Seaby), Kennedy and/or McGlynn look like probables and if we trade Jolly to the Pies we'll probably get another player too. Talk that the Hall trade might happen sooner rather than later suggests possibly a player is involved rather than picks, given how far apart the clubs seemed to be on their pick valuation.

So that could be up to 5 player additions. Plus Roos says he's after another ruckman.

Will be surprised if Thornton doesn't get promoted, and at least one of Pyke or Orreal. Possibly both will given someone elsewhere seems pretty sure that Orreal has been told he'll be on the senior list next year. I find that quite surprising but the source says they've heard it from the horse's mouth.

So we might already be back up to a full quota of players, and that is assuming two of Goodes, Kirk, JBolts get listed as veterans and hence our senior list stays at 40.

That suggests at least three young Swans still have a bit to be nervous about over the next week or three.
We might add to the deletions: Brabazon probably delisted, Barlow could be traded, and I wouldn't mind that, and either or both of Playfair and Laidlaw delisted due to injury problems. So it's a bit too early to say how tight the senior list might be.

I hope that we aim to get at least 3 draft picks in the top 22 or 4 in the first 2 rounds, which may be possible if the Jolly trade goes through. All the others from the third round up could be used for trading purposes.

I think it was a good idea moving Buchanon on. He would have had few opportunities next year with so many midfield prospects looking for spots. I would imagine that we will keep both Schmidt and DOK next year, and who knows how they might fare. With pick six, we are likely to pick up either Martin, Rohan or Lucas, all great midfield prospects, and despite what some have said about the lack of depth in the draft, there are plenty of good prospects in the first two rounds.

The focus should be on building a premiership over the next few years. To get some young talent and play them together over several years. That's the only way to build another premiership. I agree with all those who say we should not get Fev under any circumstance. He could virtually destroy any hopes of another premiership in the next 5 years.

Would love to get Kennedy and wouldn't mind McGlynn either. If a deal with Collingwood is done, Pick 14 and Dawes would seem a good deal for us. Makes us pretty solid in the KP area, and could draft Mids with our top 2 or 3 picks.

Jolly is worth a top 5 draft pick at the very least, especially considering he was a nobody at pick 15 when we got him from Melbourne. Any player trade needs to involve a BOG gun coming our way.

Still i would much rather us have kept 22 and given them 28. So much for Roos saying that we wanted to keep our first 2 picks! And also where is everyone coming up with this pick 14 and DAWES trade? Where has it ever been mentioned that he is up for trade or that we are after him? The last article i saw where his name was mentioned was the one with Maxwell saying they didn't want Fev at Collingwood because they had young players like DAWES who are coming through so i doubt they are looking to get rid of him.

It happens every year. We'll probably accept a 4th rounder for Hall and pay more than we should for Kennedy.

I suspect we may be trading 28 anyway for McGlynn/Kennedy so it doesn't matter too much in the whole scheme of things

Yeah can see it happening too I'd probably take 28 for a Kennedy type player as he is young enough to get the best out of him. We still need a couple of high picks though so any deal involving Jolly needs to be a good first rounder.

No, I think we'll hold onto the second round pick and trade a 3rd round.

3.52pm: The BULLDOGS say talks have progressed with the Swans for a deal for Barry Hall.

The Dogs' James Fantasia said he expected a deal done in the next 48hrs.

We believe it's likely the Dogs will give up their third-round pick (No.47) for Hall.

I guess that's the best we could hope for for a player who we all thought we were losing for nothing (retiring) last season anyway. They were never going to give up a second rounder for a player who will be 33 at the start of next season, but in saying that i wouldn't take a 4th rounder either. Better off losing him for nothing than getting screwed like that!

I am happy with that, a 3rd rounder is fair.

I's rather a player for Hall, most likely a draft pick so high wont be much good.
Hally will probaly kick goals next season against us, it feels like a no win situation for us.
Its a pitty other teams werent interested so we could have a betting war.
