Can someone fill me in on why everyone is keen to give up draft picks for Kennedy and McGlynn. I looked up their profiles on the Hawks' web site, not having noticed them much in games, and can't see how they are better than any of the young players we already have. If they come to the Swans they will have been promised game time - I can't see why we want them.

Don't know why Roos would be looking for another ruckman if we lost Jolly. We are not serious premiership contenders next year anyway. I'd wait and see what happens next year.
Seaby could become a good no.1 ruckman moving out of the shadows of Cox, like Jolly did once he moved out of the shodow of Jeff White.
Pyke made some good progress last year. Currie was almost a go before he got injured and Orreal is progressing nicely.
If we landed another no.1 ruckman, what happens to these guys? Languish in Canberra?Comment

Luke Ball wants out and has nominated Collingwood as his preferred destination.
St Kilda will surely be asking for Pick 14 so this will effect the chances of Jolly finding a way down there severely.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

I don't think Roosy's great mate Rossy Lyon will be doing him any favours over the next four days as St Kilda will no doubt demand a 1st round pick for Luke Ball.
On recent history you'd have to say there's no way Collingwood will pull off both deals."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Can you imagine? We draft Seaby, the Jolly trade goes pear shaped and we end up with more ruckman on our list than any other club in the history of the AFL/VFL.
The reality is that Ball aint worth a first round pick. He is a second round pick. Also, Jolly is worth more to Collingwood than Ball is.He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

Why do people say we have too many ruckmen?
We have Seaby, Currie (yet to debut) and Jolly (for now) on the senior list.
Pyke and Orreal are on the rookie list. Depending on what happens with Jolly, I'd be surprised if either are elevated.
Worth noting the great Lions teams of 01-04 had 3 premier ruckmen."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

2010 will be the last year we have Jolly, at best. There is no way we will let his contract run out where we have a chance of getting nothing for him. This is probably our best negotiating year. You would think Hawthorne would be desperate to get Jolly, with Bailey injured and Campbell retiring. Maybe they think Renouf and Taylor are enough. With there inside Mids, Jolly would be great.Comment

ABC Twitter says there is a rumour going around tonight that the Hawks are going cold on the Burgoyne trade. Jolly for pick 9 and say Kennedy (who they offered to Port as part of the deal) would be neat for us!Comment
