    Swans v Brissie

Far be it for me to appear a bit gleeful at others hard fortune, but Brissie has lost Bradshaw and Merritt for the R22 game. Glee Glee Glee.

I am coming up from melbourne for the game this week. Just wondering if the entry ticket entitles free transport to the game? I remember hearing something about it. Or is this just for games at homebush?

      Just Homebush games.

But depending on where you are staying, you can probably walk to the game. SCG certainly walkable from anywhere in the CBD if you have the time and the inclination (though a bit further of a walk than the MCG from Melbourne CBD).

Thanks, thats what I thought, just making sure. George street is where I am staying, have no idea if thats walkable to the SCG, bus from central station would be best option I assume.

Not really walkable to the SCG (unless you're VERY committed!). Depending on what part of George St you're on, your best option would probably be to get to Elizabeth St or Liverpool St, hop on a 380 or 378 (again, depends on where you are, George St is long, but you can catch the 378 from Central), take it down Oxford St, hop off in Paddington somewhere (about 10 mins on the bus), and walk the rest of the way (should be about 10 mins walk from Oxford St). Look up a map and bus timetable to make sure. There may even be a better bus to catch, I think there are buses that run from the city to the other side of the SCG/Moore Park Rd, but not sure if that's quicker and where you can catch it from.

Unfortunately buses are pretty useless if trying to go direct to the SCG, and trains are even worse (closest station is probably Bondi Junction, which is probably only half the distance that Central is anyway, but on the opposite side, making it a needlessly long route). Bus and walking would definitely be the best route.

                What a load of wooses!

If you're anywhere near the Central End of George St, it is a 15 minute walk up the hill to the SCG (or maybe a little longer if you walk slow!) I agree that if you're down near the Circular Quay end of George St it is a fair hike, but still doable.

Edgecliff is the closest station, on the other side of paddington. Walk from Central. It's a piece of pie up Foveaux and Fitzroy streets.

Alternatively try The Transport Infopage for the best public transport.

There's no way Edgecliff is the closest station. As the crow flies maybe, but BJ to the SCG is a straight line along Oxford St and Moore Park Rd. From Edgecliff is up a pretty steep hill, and through a maze of little side streets, etc (unless you go via Ocean St, which is quite a roundabout way to go). I'm from Paddo, BJ is considerably quicker.

And wow, looking at a map I never realised how close Central was. Still much quicker to catch a bus to Oxford St and then walk though, IMO. If it was on the other side of Central (i.e. Surry Hills), then yeah, but down near Broadway, better to just hop on a 378. Get off the bus just after Victoria Barracks (or just before the post office/Town Hall), walk down Oatley Rd and you're there. I was being overcautious with the 10 minute walk estimate, probably more like 5 minutes.

Buses are free from Kings Cross fountain direct to SCG and back if you feel like a drink at the Club (cheap) before the game. I have found the buses from Central quite good, always looks worse, but you do have to pay. And I am told that some casual tickets purchased for the game do include transport and I see some people getting on the buses at Central with them without paying so just try it

What an exciting/emotional game to look forward to this weekend although Sydney has no chance of making the finals. Brisbane will be wanting the 4 points to secure a home final whilst Sydney will be doing everything to win it for 3 champions who have been the face of our club for so long. It is truly the end of an era and a decade for Sydney and what a successful one at that! My tip is Sydney after the siren with a Micky O Magic goal lol. P.S. This is my first post, apolgies if I have done it wrong.
