These negative comments. You know that it's not a requirement to give open and truthful answers to media questions. That's what 'yeah, nah, one week at a time, give 110%" are for...

Both the coach and captain are the leaders in a football sense at the club, if they want to publicly question a players behaviour on the field and whether they can allow him to take the field again it's their right.
It's the 'right' of every leader to question people in their team publicly, but it's still poor form here as it is in any work place, especially if it's before an in-depth internal discussion.
But it didn't, we handled it well from a club point of view so move on people
No. People here can choose to move on when they like, not when they're told. It is only a single thread.

Baz was one an absolute gun for the club and won us a lot of games. We could not have won the flag without him. Rightly or wrongly(umpires) he became a liability. He was trapped in the studio with people putting words in his mouth. He will be at the game tonight - the whole issue was handled as well as it could have been. Let's move on.

As much as Hall was a good player for us, when he crossed the white line he was a barker's egg short of a backyard.

I think the poor man doesn't really know what he wants or where he is at. As I have often said, I want to hug him and hit him at the same time. And I think that says a fair bit about his own state at present. I guess its all a bit much.

We owe alot to Barry Hall. But we also have alot of cringe-worthy moments as well. Right or wrong he is gone and we all need to get over it. The club has had to put up with alot from him and have supported him through it all. But this season was the "straw that broke the camels back." I am looking forward to seeing how our young players are going to progress. We have some youngsters that are showing some promise and that is exciting
We may have a couple of lean years but hopefully the supporters will stick by the team.

Which is something that I think has been missed a tad in all of this.

I like Barry Hall, I think he has been put through a bit of a hard time by the club however he did just that to Nick Davis in 2006 when he was a captain of the club and took his turn to speak up about how dissapointed he was in Davis' behaviour- for him then to complain about club captains hanging people out to dry in the media is a bit rich to me.... keep in mind as well that he was speaking to the media about a guy who had voiced his dissapointment in being dropped, not a guy who had just clocked someone after having served 6/7/whatever weeks the year before for the same thing.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I watched him walk down the aisle last night with so many of the swans legends, form a spectacular lineup with them, all who were then presented with a Swannies scarf, I couldnt help but notice that he was the only person in that lineup who didnt put the damn thing on.

Hall decked a couple of guys..in public, in front of thousands.
Roos and Kirk said they didn't think it was a very smart thing to do, and as the Captain and Coach, they were disappointed and would be keeping their eye on him to ensure it didn't happen again.
Those comments were made in answer to media questions..Where is the problem?
Hall then later says he was disappointed in those comments. Fair enough.
The world goes on! Anyone hurt except the guys who got decked?? Of course not!
