I like Barry Hall, I think he has been put through a bit of a hard time by the club however he did just that to Nick Davis in 2006 when he was a captain of the club and took his turn to speak up about how dissapointed he was in Davis' behaviour- for him then to complain about club captains hanging people out to dry in the media is a bit rich to me.... keep in mind as well that he was speaking to the media about a guy who had voiced his dissapointment in being dropped, not a guy who had just clocked someone after having served 6/7/whatever weeks the year before for the same thing.
Very good point and one of which I had forgotten.

I noticed that and was very disappointed. I imagine his justification is that he wanted to honour the 3 without honouring the club
I thought it was very, very poor form.

Hall is going to have a legacy that will be very much divided among the fans. Some will see him as being harshly treated, some as getting what he deserved. I think the club did make the right decision, the buck had to stop somewhere. I'm going to forget his misdemeanours of the last few years and simply remember his great performances for the club. No matter what he has done wrong in more recent history, he gave the club an awful lot in his time there and without him, there is little doubt in my mind we would still be searching for an elusive premiership.
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."

Will be quickly forgotten, and we will remember him as a star who lead us to a premiership
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I was standing right there in Bay 27 and i watched him give his scarf to a small kid.
Hally has always been great with the kids and supporters.
Hally turned up (did Plugger? I couldn't find him) maybe he just felt a bit embarrassed atm to wear the scarf, poor cove, he had NOT A CLUE were to shove the bloody thing!!

No, as someone else has noted, he gave it to a young fan before joining the honour guard..... great form from a great bloke.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
I think your "imagining" is very poor form. You have absolutely no idea what he is thinking.
To quote Felix out of the Odd Couple, "When you assume, you make an ass out of u and me."
Hence why I said IMAGINE instead of ASSUME.
Perhaps you could use a dictionary to define the difference so that you don't ASSUME my meaning and make an ASS out of U (not) ME.

It was sad not to see Plugger there. I was hoping against all hope that he would come out of hiding for his mate Micky.
Come back to the fold Plugger. I'll appoint you forwards coach.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Now you're back pedalling quicker than an Italian tank in WW2.
I fully support Kirky and Roos - it would have been difficult to have said what they said in public and they didn't do it lightly.
I would much rather their approach than some Clubs who keep putting up with behaviour detrimental to the team just because someone is a "star". It comes back to bite you later.
I have appreciated Hall's efforts over the years, but it had reached the stage where the coach and captain had to make a stand. There were a number of games where we had the momentum, then Barry had a brain explosion and the ball went down the other end and the opposition goaled. The momentum was lost and then players started dropping their heads. I had enough of it in the end and was glad to see him go. Disappointed to see him go, but at the same time it was healthier for the club.
Last weekend in Sept 05 - The best weekend of my life!
