Yep, Birdman for me, a classic climb over the pack.

And Jurrah' s goal they reckon was the biggest over the shoulder goal they've ever seen.

Hopefully Jurrah's goal is as good as the hype, I was expecting a Smith-esque effort from Burton after the way it was talked up as the best mark ever.

On the 5th Qtr they compared it to Smiths, saying that Burton got higher. I disagree. I still think Smith was higher. But both sensational marks.

Smith's is in a league of it's own, I rate that mark as possibly the best ever or in the top 3 at the very least. I must be missing something but don't think Burton's is even close, as good as it was.

Unless you're completely biased, Birdman's is clearly the best this year.

Looked like a simple chest mark albeit 11 feet off the ground.

Don't know if you were watching VFL in the 70's, but Teasdale, Picken, van Der Haar, Roberts, Barker and Jessalenko, just to name a few, all took marks like that regularly, hell, even Michaels Roache's mark of the year sometime in the 80's was better than Burtons.

In saying that Smiths was a great mark but don't know if I would rate it top three in what I have seen over the years. As you said, Burtons was a good mark, but nowhere near many others I have seen.

You're right, there were quite a few marks like that (only seen old videos) but Smith's just looks so high and because of the pack it looks like he just floated up there somehow lol.

                  We all have preferences, though.

I'm not biased . Kirk's one hander falling backwards on Sat. nite was the best.

Smith's is awesome because it is so high and he stays up there for a while.

I can't believe the Red and White glasses that some people observe life through on this website . . .

Grundy's mark, good as it was, as high as he got, simply has nothing on the Brett Burton mark. It's not all about how high you get.

And that Jurrah goal was awesome, as was his mark, and that kick, and that other kick . . . . actually the kid had a ripper match.
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

As soon as I saw Burton's mark I thought "bad luck Reg". A more graceful looking mark IMO.

Birdmans mark didn't really do it for me. I was watching the game live and thought wow good mark, but hardly mark of the century. Don't reckon it deserves all the hype.

No way mark of the century. That was a ridiculous comment.

That's thanks to Mr Hyperbole himself Dwayne Russell. Every 2nd goal he calls is apparently goal of the game, week, month, year, century, era etc.
