    LRT'sgame

In all the emotion of saying farewell to three greats one thing has been overlooked.LRT played a fantastic game. I was apprehensive about him rucking as well as defending but we cleared the ball more often when he was in the centre than when Jolly was.. He took some telling marks in defense and kicked with confidence ,finding his man each time. By the end of the game,I no longer had my anxiety level up when he neared the ball and THAT was a change.Well done LRT,you didn't let your mates down!

Without LRT we would have been beaten soundly last night. He has resolutely improved most facets of his game, his lumberjack running style betrays a lot of good things he does and he's very solid in the air.
    Excellent game.

His best footy is ahead of him. He and Grundy are looking good. Smith back there looks good as well

Grundy is such a reliable mark

Massivley underrated and has copped more than his fair share of knocks on this site.

Yet, he is one of our more important players and plays consistently good feetball in a difficult position.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I called LRT enigmatic in another post, and I think that is a good reason why some of us don't actually notice him. I have ranked him mid+ since our granny, but this year he has made his position his own, doesn't look embarrassed to be there, and can read the play. Note to self: must understand that the coaches know more than me - that's why they have the big bucks and I have loose change.

as long as they dont RUCK him. He was just starting to read the game again after a couple of years in the winderness. Looks hopeless in the ruck and we do need someone up back to take a mark. Still worries me when he has the ball but he has improved.

He had a great game and has improved enormously to be a very useful player. But he was playing loose man for a lot of last night, which is one of the easier gigs in the game.

Got to disagree! Loose man is not an easy role hence it is given only to really talented players like Goodes and Hodge. You have to read the play very well and be positioned just right and if the opposition scores it is your fault! Your disposal must be near perfect too.For LRT to have this role is a mark of respect by the coach! Well done Lrt

Don't agree, I thought he looked very good in the ruck last night and offers so much more around the ground (at the moment) then Pyke.

When was the last time opposition coaches allowed Goodes or Hodge to play as a loose man?

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Whatha!! No he is not. Take the mouth guard out, and have another look at those shoulders and ever shiny hair, he has a lot going for him. He is also one of the nicest tempered young men I have ever met. When he talks to you he looks at just you. And that can be completely charming. Gloriously handsome, no. Pretty boy, no. Ugly, No Way.
