Club Swans - Watch this space

I didn't think you were Stell. I totally understand your POV. Until this year, I only ever done a GF breakfast in 2005 and a trivia night, but I have really enjoyed the functions at Club Swans and the couple of aftermatch's I've attended this season. I don't go all the time but the Sat arvo games ones have been a good way to extend the evening.
I'm pointing out that it would have been very difficult to cater an A/M function last week given the event of 3 retirees and the numbers of attendees that would have wanted to come plus the players are tired and emotional. Their families were all there for their last game. Including all the ex-players that were there.
Look at the B&F, the club has changed venues to accommodate more attendees plus the HofF so in terms of people who want opportunities to be more involved, they have certainly been there.

For last year's final A/M you had to register. If you didn't register you didn't get in.
They could have done that again.

I would have loved to say hello to Kels again. It's been a while.

I'm not having a go at you LK. In this year's survey they ask you questions like rate the accessibility to players, rate whether or not the club makes you feel wanted, rate the functions ... unfortunately we members don't rate. Makes me angry.

No worries Annie. I can see your POV, however, think that the club did a wonderful job of farewelling the boys. Training was open on the Thursday, they had the montage, the past players and then a long farewell around the boundary which meant everyone got their "piece" - that wouldn't have happened had 21k members all tried to get into the Noble stand. Just not realistic.

I thought the farewell was fantastic, by the club AND the fans. I loved how there were dozens of club people waiting patiently on the ground for the team to return from the walkaround, loved seeing Roos with his arm around MOL's mum, loved seeing the ex-players esp. BBB, loved the true emotion from the stands. (I don't think I would have been the only one crying). The boys will always remember that night. An A/M function on that occasion would have been anti-climactic. IMHO.

Right, so no club for Swans and Sydney AFL fans in Sydney is better?

Club Swans has proven potential and I personally think it's great that us AFL fans in Sydney finally have a club of our own to watch the footy and get together. Sadly it doesn't seem to be promoted properly to our fans and fans of other AFL clubs in Sydney. Hopefully things turn around soon.

I'm saying that a club FOR Swans and Sydney AFL fans would be better.

At least the separation between pokies and the club is distinct.

My biggest beef with the location of the club is the parking.
It is to far away, especially for a female at night, and it is to expensive - $25 to park the car so you can go to the club for a few hours is ludicrous! They should have a deal with the car park managers so that members get some kind of reduced rate.
