Now now, don't you drop your standards down to collingwood cheersquad levels! Mind you, watching Collingwood being beaten was delicious.....the look on that white haired bloke's face was priceless. I am torn. It is an unworthy sentiment, but.....heartfelt at the same time.

After watching a full saints game on the weekend,(I must admit I haven't watched much of them this year), anyway, after watching the game yesterday, especially in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, I was just saying to myself...'god this looks familiar". Their style is identical to how we played from 2003-2008. So if anyone out there needs their finals fix, just watch the saints play, its not the same I know, but if you look carefully enough, you can almost see the swans players doing the same thing.

Used to hate the saints, but since Schneider went there, I hope they do well. Certainly good to see them slay the filth.

If anyone of Dogs, Lions or Saints win, I'll be happy. Wouldnt mind if Adelaide did either, but dont want them limping into the grand final to get thrashed.
Anyone, as long as its not collingwoos.

Unfortunetly, a saints win will be for a side that has obviously tanked to get draft picks. Backing up from Hawthorn last year, (also a tanker), it bodes poorly for the integrity of the comp. Melbourne flag in 2015 ?

          Heart says Dogs or Cats
          Brain says Saints or Cats
Not Colliwobbles or Crows (in retaliation for always beating Swans) nor Lions (just because).

Added benefit ... Judd's facing a two week ban.

Not so "AFL good boy" after all.

Girly face-slapper Judd faces two week ban

Carlton captain Chris Judd is facing a two-match AFL suspension at the start of the 2010 season for making contact to the face of Brisbane's Michael Rischitelli.

The match review panel have ruled that Judd made unnecessary and unreasonable contact to Rischitelli's face during Saturday night's loss to Brisbane at the `Gabba.

Judd has said he was not trying to eye-gouge Rischitelli, but was looking to apply a martial arts technique.

If Judd takes the case to the tribunal, he risks a three-game ban.

I suppose that's it for Judd as far as 09 brownlow?

Shouldn't be eligible 2010 brownlow - depends on how many points he gets for bitch-slapping (I think). Good to see him getting a head start.

I'm pretty sure the brownlow is only voted from the H/A games - not the finals, and if that's the case and he hasn't done anything wrong this year, then he's eligible.

It's a moot point anyhoos .... Goodesy's going to get it.

Agree on both counts Annie..I had a lapse thinking it was a home and home game..of course the penalty will kick in for '10...and , of course, Goodesy wins the '09!

You didn't watch the game (or any final for that matter) and clearly still haven't seen the incident. Why are you posting on it?

I did see a bit of the game, like I said before, this September I'm very busy (not that I should have to justify how I spent my time to you (lot), but I'll just go ahead and humour you anyway!!!)

Like everyone else who was too busy to watch it, I read the match report.

My bitch-slap comment came from Judd's quote ....

Judd has said he was not trying to eye-gouge Rischitelli, but was looking to apply a martial arts technique.
What if I call it a "failed" bitch-slap ... would you feel better?

It must be the off-season, time for Hammo to get on my back!!!

                        Bradshaw V Nick Davis

Bradshaws reverse banana kick from the boundary to finish off the Blues had shades of Nick Davis's demolition of Geelong. That was really skillful but once again, anybody can do this occasionally in H/A games but a finals, when the season is at stake ??? So few can be truly great then! We saw so many examples of players who had the yips big time and were so over awed they didn't make the distance from 20 metres out! Bradshaw was heroic and performed at the moment of intense pressure making it a bonus points plus goal. Not nearly as good as Nick's 4 goals in the last quarter effort which will forever remain legendary. The tape of that should go into Swans memorabilia library and he would be my second nomination after Leo for Hall of Fame. Love MOL but he sure had the yips on GF day!He is my 3rd nomination.

It's actually a bit different. They pressure the ball in their forward 50 to prevent it coming out and run a zone across the ground. We would clear out of our forward 50 very quickly and either flood the centre or the defensive 50. Their defensive intensity and tackling pressure are similar though. But they are a much better offensive threat and rely far less on locking the ball down through stoppages.
