Just the type of player we're looking for. Whether he's the type of character we want, I don't know. And whether we can actually make a deal that makes sense for all parties another unknown. Still, if you don't take risks you don't improve.

Andrew Lovett, Andrejas Everitt and our young guns and we start looking like a top 8 team again.....

We'd be mad not to look at him.

It's going to be a long, long off season.

How about we just draft the best talent out there and try to win a few more games next year than we did this year??? How's that for a unique trading strategy??
        Interesting theory.
Crazy to make mention of it here

When I first joined RWO, the main argument for attracting talent was that they'd enjoy the warm weather! At least the Reform School for Bad Kids is a step up from that!!

Lovett = Loose cannon + heart as big as a split pea.

            No thanks.

Agree on your first point, don't agree on the second, but he was in scintillating form early in the season. If he could bring that form to Sydney I'd be very willing to take a chance on him.

The off season on RWO won't be near as long as five years waiting to patiently to make the 8.

Me too but its not going to happen. He doesn't want Sydney and Sydeny therefore is not even considering him.

i might have agreed half way through the season but the two games against St Kilda and Geelong really showed something. We are not far off the mark even with half a team of youngsters and carrying guys in their last season plus hacks who can't be dropped.(you know who)
Sure consistency might be the thing that brings us down but we got some good new players in Smith, Bird, Hannebury ,White and when Vez gets fit its even better.throw in a fit Schmidt and we are looking good.

My call is we fill in 7th or 8th spot next year.

How about we try and get at least one good, fast, experienced player in to help offset the hundreds of games worth of experience that retired this year?

How's that for a unique trading strategy??

Because we aren't a serious contender for the premiership next year, and may not be the year after. Even if we are in 2011 Lovett will be 30 at the start of that season and ignoring all of his other shortcomings, his greatest weapon (his pace) will be on the decline

Hmm. Well, you do make a good a point there.

But if we can't get a decent pick for BBB, I wouldn't mind seeing us try for a senior player instead anyway.

I actually think he'd be a good player for us but i'd prefer to keep our 1st 2 picks and i doubt the bummers will take our 3rd

Essendon supporters on Bigfooty wanted our Pick 6 for Lovett during the trading period. I'm glad we didn't waste the pick on that idiot!

                                Gary Rohan >>>>> Andrew Lovett.
