I was in Canada last weekend so just finished watching the game for the first time - I had to just listen to the 3MMM broadcast at the time. Now I see Roos as some omniscient being who really doesn't like Ross Lyons very much.

"Ross, I can give you two players cheap that I don't have much time for. A couple of years down the track their lack of accountability and inability to lift on the big stage will cost you a Premiership"

Dempster was just a bit soft on the day, with a very gettable miss. But Schneider is flattered by the gimme goal - I think he kicked 1:3 or 1:4 (plus the bonus goal). For a Premiership player who missed some very easy shots that's unforgivable and reminds me of the sinking heart I'd have when he (post 2005) was shooting for an important goal for the Swans. He's fallen far from the bright start from Osborne who featured in our R1 victory over the Blues so many years ago.

I wonder if anyone over at the Saints is still gloating about the players they stole from us - and whether commentators will continue their asides about how perplexing it is that the Swans let Schneiderman go.

I note the amount of gloating on this board re Schneider's performance.

He was actually very good for the Saints throughout the course of the whole season kicking 34 goals 19 behinds. I wish we had a small forward capable of doing the same

If you think he is a poor player for missing big goals in a grand final, then I guess Barry Hall and Micky O are also ordinary

Saints will get 200 games odd out of these 2, lets hope we can get similar output from Meredith

"gloating" is too strong, at least from me. At the time I thought we did the right think moving Schneider on and I think that move was vindicated last Saturday.

Yes, I bet Hall and Micky still have nightmares about their performances in 2006 and 2005 respectively - though we won in 2005 so Micky got over his, we lost in 2006 and Baz, arguably, never got over his.

And Schneider will have about his game last weekend. You have a chance to step up in the big games and some do, some don't. (Schneider's game against the Saints in 2005 was brilliant but that's a while ago now.)
