I reckon a change of scenery will do him a world of good.

Thanks for the 2005 GF Monty. Along with many others I've said on this board before that you should have had the Norm Smith, and I notice in this season's Age Footy Guide "should have won 2005 Norm Smith medal". You are a hard worker and you've left your mark on the club. I hope things go well for you in Brisbane and that the change will refresh your approach - lots of mutual respect between the two clubs should help things along.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

It's sad that his last few years with the Swans have been mostly disappointing and really frustrating but his 2005 GF performance will always be a memorable one. I hope the Lions can get the laziness out of him ASAP.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Disappointing to see him leaving, but his best football seems to be well past him judging by his past year or so.

The whole Norm Smith thing is confusing - I think I count half a dozen players robbed!

Amon - will miss you. It won't be the same without you & Crouchy & Schneider man & the mad irishman.
I feel like the guts have been ripped from the club - lucky that Kirky is still there to restore my faith.
2005 will live forever (or until we win another premiership)

                GO BLOODS!!!!!!!!

                  Thanks for the memories Monty!

It is a shame you couldn't get back into form and play like you could back in 05 and 06. I've always believed you could get back into that stellar but it is disappointing and most unfortunate to see you not play your last game in the red and white, hampered with injuries and blooding in the new younger players throughout the 08 and 09 season!!!

Best of luck against the Lions.

You will sorely be missed! I'm going to miss you! I

                    Good luck Monty.

You were a great player for us in 05 & 06. Instrumental in both GF's and the seasons preceeding them. Could be argued that we wouldn't have that magical cup in 05 without you. All the best.

Mind you, you've been an absolute spud since then. How you ever played a game in 08 & 09 is beyond me. Probably should of traded both you and Schneider in a package deal for Dal Santo/Ball/Montagna.

Hope you get back to form and continue on at the Lions.
