As I said before we just got rid of our premiership captain and leading forward because he has issues - and we are recommending picking up another club's headcase with issues. And some of you reckon thats worth doing at any price. Absolutely ridiculous.

You forget there are those of us who were not happy with Hall going - and there are those of us who are willing to give a person another go with Fev. no one is perfect in this life - the sooner you realise that the better off you will be!

and I can see it now - if we do get Fev, and he kicks a bag of goals in every game - amazing how the tide will turn and he will be heralded the new golden haired boy. It happened with Plugger and it haappened with Hall. But again then some on here have very short memories!

actually i have a long memory. I never had a problem with plugger because he was an out and out champion. Fev aint that in a million years.

And I didn't want Hall to go. But if the club has made that decision it would seem beyond bizarre to then introduce exactly the same issue again.

As I said I'm for getting him dirt cheap. But those who think that a contract with fev is the answer are simply kidding themselves. Just accept that he will play the clown sulk like a petulant kid and kick some goals against crap teams. And our silky smooth skills coming through midfield (ala judd murphy gibbs) will lead to him getting hit on the chest repeatedly like hall was for the past three seasons

Ok if it doesnt cost us Vesper as mooted a number of times on radio talk backs. We need to get more than 14 for Jolly we should be going after Brown as a defender as well as pick 14 from Collingwood. Then on push 14 ro Carlton and nothing else perhaps getting blues to pay say 25%+ of wage.
My real worry is if BBB says the ball coming into the forward line frustrated him (which I can beleive) what is that going to do for Fevola. He gets the "sh" with Carlton sometime and they have guns coming out of the mid field.
Why not try to get Demons to take Jolly and get their pick 11 (x carlton) or better still their second (swapped for our 6) plus 11 for Jolls. Another problem with Fev seems to be wife (see Herald Sun) not wanting to go to Sydney. Another with wife problems.

And this piece of advice is rather pointless. The guy has had sundry goes with a club that was willing to put up with all of his issues. Why are we the only ones who are willing to entertain this - doesn't it say something to you that no melbourne club is interested ?

That certainly wasn't the case for plugger

White isnt the answer either, but a combination of both White & Fev might just do it- do you honestly think that kid will be able to take all that pressure next year - the expectation will be huge.

Dont be so blinkered, whilst I loved the bloke, Plugger had his issues too - having watched him for years at St Kilda he was no angel had a suspension record that was nothing to be proud of and lets not forget what he did to Cavan.

Don't give a stuff about him getting blitzed at the brownlow - I'd be a hypocrite if I did.
I don't want him because I like the look of our current forward line.

well actually a good counter example are the crows - who have as much expectation but from a passionate footy state and they are content with tippett, burton, walker, porplyzia two of whom are kids and one is coming back (spectacularly) from a knee reconstruction - why is goodes, white, johnstone such a problem - isn't the missing ingredient (especially given the loss of monty) the stunning small rather than the tall ?

NO That is one of the big reasons i do not want fev on the team. Add inconsistance, pepetulance and age to his price and I believe he is not worth the effort

I'm 50/50 on Fev. Off field issues are minor what I don't like about him as a footballer is the sulking and giving away frees/50 metres when things don't go his way.

He does kick goals, lots of them, from long range, with accuracy and he did it during the dark years at Carlton.

He would also drag the best defender providing some relief for White, Johnston etc.

Have a read on the AFL website on the 17 top prospects posted yesterday. Do you want one of those 17 (if we give up a first round pick) not playing for the Swans for the next decade?

So I'm happy to Fev but not at great cost. Pick 28 plus Barlow and pick up all his salary (which might be what Carlton REALLY need) and I'm for him.

The Crows learnt their mistake when they recruited Wayne Carey. I can't see how us recruiting Fevola would be much different.

The plan is for Goodes and White to be our key forwards with hopefully Currie and Johnston to play roles as the third option. I don't see why we should deviate from that path.
