It goes against the grain.
I honestly don't think our players would be happy with the Fevwit on the team.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

I'm not arguing that Annie, and I think you know where I stand on giving people a second/third/fourth etc chance. I was just answering Melbournehammer's question about why no Melbourne Clubs are interested in him.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

No one is interested in him in Melbourne because he's a loose cannon.
Football (unfortunately) is a "professional" game and as "professionals" the clubs, the do gooders and the fans expect a degree of professionalism - on and off the field. These guys get paid an awful lot of money - the trade off for that is that they have to behave themselves.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Fev may or may not help do that - but to try and be a spokesperson on behalf of the players is just nonsense.Regards,

i think our players would well and truly lay out as they do with all new players at the club what is expected of them to be a swan.
Dont be mistaken for 1 minute if you think Kirk, Bolts and Goodes haven't been consulted
Think about it this way for next year
We have a premiership ability backline
We have a top 6 midfield with Mcveigh fully fit and o'keefe excelling there this year.
Add Fev into the forward line and we have a definite top 8 side with goodesy there white developing..(White wont come into his full potential for at least 2-3 more years) Vez at the bottom...Comment

I just don't understand how you can make comments like that. How would you know? Do you personally canvass each player on their innermost thoughts? How do you know they're not saying 'Geez it'll be handy having Fev with us next year'. This notion that the Swans are some high moral, squeaky clean playing group is nonsense. They're professional footy players that want to win.
Fev may or may not help do that - but to try and be a spokesperson on behalf of the players is just nonsense.
Easy to draw a line - they weren't very happy with Blind Barry, so I imagine they wouldn't put up with the fevwit's crappola.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Footy needs more personalities like him, people not afraid to be themselves and say what they think.
Bring Fev up. He knows where the sticks are, he's got a Coleman medal or two to show for it and on the SCG he'll be kicking them from the centre circle.Comment

There is little doubt that Fev is the biggest tool in the AFL (off the field), but...
If he comes he comes.
At least he doesn't constantly abuse umpires and give away free kicks the way Hall did.
In terms of White, it would give us more flexibility to play White in defence - a real weakness for us. Given his pace and strength he could make a very good defender... like a Leo with height. He could also pinch hit in the ruck and forward on the bigger grounds.
If Fev comes it will also add an x-factor and a buzz to our club which has become quite bland."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

I just simply don't know- I think Fevola's an excellent footballer and I certainly enjoy watching him play but I'm not sure if there's a degree of the Richofan about that (love to watch him, but if he was on your team you'd go nuts).
Will it damage or hinder development of the young tall forwards? I just don't know- but it does smack of "not bottoming out in the Sydney market".
I'll be happy either way on this one.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Im down with getting Fevola as long as it doesnt hinder the development of White and Johnston.
If we get to fevcentric it could hurt White's development and confidence.
On the other hand fev will take the best defender and often be double teamed which would release White a bit. It would also allow Johnston to play at CHF or HFF maybe rotating with White, playing deeper at times.
Having Fev would also release Goodes back into the mid field where he is most damaging.
White and Fev as the big units in the forward 50 is actually a pretty scary prospect (for the opposition).Comment

Well said mate. I am guessing that the AFL mgt would be very keen to have a name player like Fev to promote the game up here, now that they seem to have closed down the "Barry Hall Hall".
On the subject of White - he is still developing and I reckon will find it harder next year when he draws the main defender from each team. With Fev up and about, White will probably be getting a better matchup.
Regardless of his off field activities, he did win the Coleman - so must be doing something right. You are generally guaranteed 5 - 6 goals a game from him......Comment
