Can't see it happening while the Big Dimwit is in control.

Sorry to disagree (and it's all just opinions anyway) but...

Many clubs give vetrans one year extensions. Who'd have known Leo would take so long to recover (lots of players have post season surgery)? Crouch still had a tagging role for certain players, right up until the end. The hope was probably that Mr Indestructable could get fit again, alas, it wasn't to be.

I don't think they have ever forced him to do rush to do anything. He's a big boy. He made a decision. Unfortunately he changed his mind. Many people do. It doesn't make it right, but that's life.

And if Monty wasn't potentially in the gun? If they intended to keep him based on form, and without knowing he was going to have an average year? Hindsight is pretty useful.

Sorry but while the rest of the above is fair to debate, to be callous and cruel about Jolly's circumstances is not on IMO. If this decision has to do with his marriage (and I haven't heard him say it) but if it is... he would have to have spent 2 more years with the Swans. He wants to spend the rest of his life with his wife and family and needs to make them happy too.

          Hear, hear!

Don't forget, Bob Skilton went on to coach the Dees for 4 years. Do we adore the Chimp any less?

Players leaving a club don't necessarily love the club any less (eg Barry Mitchell still has very fond affection for the Swans and attends Swans games some times - and he went on to 2 other clubs).

The competitive balance policies are one of the things that make our game great. We have an even competition and over years every team has a chance of winning a flag. Its a much better system than EPL where only 2 or 3 teams can ever win the comp.

Would you rather Adelaide, Hawthorn, Collingwood and West Coast win it every year because they have more cash???

              NO!

Do Geelong deserve to be helped out after playing in 3 grand finals????

              NO!

We have been through an ultra successful period and have to cop a bit of down time but we are a strong club and will be back up the top in next to no time. And i tell you what we will enjoy it more because of we watched the new team develop.

I've got to say, I'm very impressed about how we have gone about resolving the list management issues I talked about above. I don't think we could have got a better result this trade period.

Well done Mr Roos and co

Me too - and I like how Roos was prepared to play hardball and fly home when others wouldn't compromise. I still think he may be playing a very close hand re Fev.

I wonder how much Maxfield has had to do in this? There has been some good picking and research as well as good negotiations here. Anyone who thinks we haven't put together a good new team for the future should have a look at what the stubborn teams have achieved this week.

And we still have the real excitement of two first round draft picks!!

Can you add a going to Roosy's face?

                        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

hehe, I was going to add 1/2 a cross to him, but thought better of it.
I reckon Kirk may need half a cross as well.

The kids aren't in that shot. It's not the one that was published and sits on my wall, that's for sure.
