Any other key forward we could snare?

reflecting on the team in 2010 it does seem that we could really do with another key goal square type forward.

Is there anyone else we can still attract in that key position?

Grundy may have to do some work upfront again in 2010??

White and Goodes if used in the forward and half forward lines have a great leap and lead but we have lost Hall and Mick who get us goals........

We have plenty of cash is my guess

Jolly would have been on more than Mumford and he may have been on as much as Seaby and Mumford combined

Mick and Barrys salaries would not have been used up much at all.......

Not sure of their abilities in Front of the big sticks, but I would imagine the two big draftees would get some time up forward.

I'd like to see how big Jesse goes as THE key forward. He has the talent.

Teddy Richards could also get some time upfront in 2010 !

Playfair would be a forward option if he can stay fit.

Forgot about Teddy. Could get his wish of being a full time forward!?!?!

I reckon that is why we've hung on to him. The lack of experienced forwards.

He could be. He'll also lose us matches with his appalling kicking.

Maybe the club is right. Sydney supporters don't have the patience to rebuild by bringing on youngsters and we should go looking for a quick fix

Stop worrying Auntie, we don't need any more goalsquare forwards. As well as those mentioned (except Playfair who seems a decent bloke but a useless goalkick - perhaps he can play somewhere further up the ground) and other resting ruckmen such as Pyke (when he gets a go) we have LRT who can swing forward and kick a goal, and Currie, who by all accounts could be a forward or a ruckman.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Dimelb.........thanks for the relax reminder .........when I am guessing that we have the funds to dedicate to another quality player ie a midfielder or tall its so bloody hard to ignore

I wondered if we may go for Ball down at Saints........? and have him free up on the half forward line.......only 25 years of age..........and we need some experience to take over from Kirk and maybe Bolton come 2011 and if we get an injury to either of these two our midfield will be lacking in 2010 bigtime

ie could we go with ultra smalls up front like the Dogs in 2009.....?

I have no doubt we would take Ball if we could get him, but the reality is that Melbourne have the list and salary cap room to get him - and have picks well before us. They could also promise him a leadership role.

White, Goodes, Johnston, Currie, Seaby, the spritely Playfair...

How about Russell Robertson for a year or 2? I know he is injury prone but if he can get himself fit, which by all reports he is, then he might be worth a punt to put in the forward pocket.

I could be over reacting but this area just seems so weak in comparison to the top 5 teams.........

oh well.........no doubt Roos has thought about it too

Just as a little side note on this thread, just curious here, what would be a 'realistic' view from the club and fans and Jesse himself for the amount of goals he kicks in 2010? Lets say, hypothetically, he plays all 22 games, and plays them all out of the goalsquare, how many goals for the season would be a pass mark for him? My guess is 50-55 and we should be happy with that. Anything more is a bonus.
