I love the iconic Opera House but I would prefer the away strip was a traditional South Melb one in homage to our roots.Comment

Perhaps they should go waaaaay back to the vertical stripes
With a little white opera house on each red stripe, and a little red V on each white stripe.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

I love it. Where do I get one?
On another note. Can you guys at the Swans, if you are going to include a cap AGAIN with our memberships next year. Can you at least make a cap that doesn`t have that stupid redneck looking top on it. Just a nice SOFT cap with a good logo...........Even Santa follows the Swannies.Comment

When I threw it on for the Geelong game in '96 I was heckled by our own fans for wearing the wrong jumper. A few weeks later, we played Hawthorn at Waverley and a Hawks fan, on spying the jumper, came up and clinked my beer with his, and said "Respect".
I would love to see the old plain red V out again, but am happy to see the clash jumper with its mix of old and new, as it includes everyone.Comment

If I take a really deep breath and hold it till things start to go blurry, I can still just squeeze into my old South guernsey that was given to me by the son of one of the Danihers who didn't 'make it', but was supposedly worn on the park by one (Anthony) who did.

How old do you have to be before you are too old to wear a team guernsey at the football and not look like a knob? I'm told that once you pass 30 years of age, you should stop wearing team guernseys to the game and maybe just stick to the polo top, jacket and scarf.Comment

You're never too old. However, you can be too fat!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

I admit I should have stopped wearing the jersey, screaming like a maniac, getting so emotional letalone slow down on the beer a few years ago. Maybe next premiership I'll reassess my tomfoolery.Comment

You should not wear a sleeveless guernsey without a shirt underneath UNLESS you are actually playing footy at the time, OR you are under 18 years of age.
IF you are over 18 years of age, you should not wear a footy guernsey in public at all UNLESS you are going to a game.
Optional rule, and one that I try to stick to... is that once you reach 30, you should probably stop wearing them to the game too - as per your post.
If you are at home, or watching the footy at another private residence, wear whatever you want.
YMMV
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....
